Up eight with 1:30 to go and Graham pulls the trigger on a quick three in transition. I get that Saunders has probably told these guys to play fast and get threes up, but situational basketball still applies. Run the full shot clock here and a win is pretty much secured. Saunders should do better as a coach with that.

Yeah, that was a terrible shot to take at that time.

Towns with the dagger three ball.

This was a pretty complete game. Everyone contributed, and the stars shone. We outstarred them.
It's been a few years since we could say that.

Man, Wig and KAT putting the dagger into the Pistons.
Re: Wolves at Pistons 11.11
Another high motor, high basketball IQ game for Wiggins.

Kudos to Wiggins. He has been stringing together a nice stretch of games. KAT and Wiggins doing their thing and surrounded by a supporting cast that has been contributing all around.

Re: Wolves at Pistons 11.11
All things considered, beating the Pistons with Blake Griffin back in the lineup in Detroit while the Wolves are on the back end of a back-to-back is a really good win. Minnesota was in full control from start to finish and at one point led by 16. Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Jake Layman lead the way with a shoutout to Treveon Graham for his gritty, glue guy contributions. His production doesn't always show in the box score.
I thought Gorgui Dieng gave the team a good shot in the arm to end the first half when Towns had to sit due to foul trouble, but otherwise trailed off later in the game. Another game where Robert Covington was rendered ineffective and limited. That's a concerning development for me.
Hot shooting from three was the story in the first half. I think the Wolves were 8-10 from deep. We won't see that too often, but it was nice that the guys bounced back from a horrendous shooting night the game prior.
As noted prior in the thread, Saunders still has much to learn about situational basketball, but this team has competed 10 games in. Kudos to the entire staff and roster for what we've seen. They've looked a lot better than I anticipated.
