Connaughton certainly wouldn't hurt us. And if he fails as a basketball player the Twins could use him. He used to throw some heat when he played baseball at Notre Dame.

Last year around this time it was being reported that if he wasn't going to have a legit NBA job he was going to go back to baseball. It seems based on what he did last season with Portland he will be in the league at least one more year.

Per shams

Sources: Pat Connaughton is signing a two-year deal with the Bucks worth slightly more than his minimum salary in both seasons -- with the first year guaranteed. He will provide wing depth for Milwaukee.

Amile jefferson to the magic on a 2 way deal.

Arguably our most productive young player in the gleague at a position of need (pf) and we let him walk.

I know it's not a sexy name and his game has fallen off significantly over the last five years, but I'd have some genuine interest in signing Arron Afflalo given the situation we're in with our bench. Can play either wing position, still shoots it well from three-point range (39.2% on 2.5 3PA over last three years), does not require guaranteed minutes or even a certain amount of minutes, lack of perceived interest in him signifies he'd likely sign for the minimum.

I'd still prefer David Nwaba, but you have to have a plan in case that doesn't happen, and with how the Wolves front office have been sitting on their hands, it's looking like Nwaba won't happen.

There aren't many sfs left on the market. With rose and okogie taking the back up sg minutes, id prefer a bigger wing that can either defend or shoot.

FAs left

Nick young
Aaron Afflalo
Sean Kilpatrick
Luke Babbit
Bruno Caboclo
Rodney hood
Josh huestis
Corey brewer
Paul zipser
Joe johnson
David nwaba
Bazz

Slim pickings.

Obviously hood, but he's not signing for the min.
Nwaba is probably out of our price range.

Of that list, i kinda like Huestis. Not the shooter we need, but he has size and can defend.

I'm disappointed we didn't keep him. The problem with Amile is he isn't a floor spacer. Orlando has a glut of bigs on that roster but some of them likely don't figure into their long term plans.

Cam I'm sorry to say but advanced stats say Afflalo is done and one of the worst players in the league. His offensive impact is horrific. He isn't a good or worthwhile defender anymore either. We may as well pay and play a G-league type player at this point.
