Are teams calling about their guys especially a player like Harkless? Yeah you can bet they are. If they decide to save money and deal a guy like Harkless they will probably look to deal him to an EC team unless it obviously benefits them a lot more than saving a bunch of cash. Portland has a nice roster but they could use one more player with a bit more upside. They have some assets to work with including draft picks.
I'm convinced they will make a move. They just aren't good enough to justify paying the lux, and the penalty would be $19m, and it's not like they get a Hendrix guitar with it, or a picture of Robert Zimmerman teaching him the words to "All Along the Watchtower". If something would hold back a POR/MIN move, it wouldn't be the same conference, or even the same division. It would be the great war of Martell/Roy/Batum. Much weeping, many lives lost.
Lol you already know they are signing Pek and playing him 1 game after his medical retirement to make Glenn foot the whole bill he's been racking up.

I think that is in the back of their mind. They have to keep him as the "15th man" for the next two season to stop them. And the comments from Pek make it seem like he's in no hurry to come back. But anything's possible. Does MIN really have to pay the insurance company back all the way back to the first day of benefit payments if he appears in one game?

I don't know how the insurance is setup for back pay purposes. Basically whatever would have been covered by insurance has to be covered by Glenn if Pek medically retires and then plays another game.
