1. Wiggins for Butler straight up
2. #7 and LaVine for George
Ballsy, but that would put us right in the mix in the Western Conference....at least for one year!
Would the egos of Butler, PG and Towns fit on one team? That's pushing way past luxury ego tax range. It'd be fun, but I see PG as a market guy who wouldn't stay here even with a super team. It would be the best perimeter defensive team in the league though with Dunn, Butler and PG.

Boston Celtics have spoken to the Minnesota Timberwolves about acquiring the 7th pick in the draft, league sources told Basketball Insiders.
I wonder if this is a trade down scenario for Boston or asset collecting move to get a star.
If their goal is to get a star, wouldn't this just be a zero-sum move since presumably Minnesota would want an asset that Boston could have used anyway in trying to obtain said star?
I don't get it.....
I'm assuming the idea is to get the pick to offer 3 plus 7 for Zinger. Wolves would then get some vets that New York has no interest in. Jae Crowder? Avery Bradley? Amir Johnson? Marcus Smart?
Not sure why NYK wouldn't be interested any any one of those guys, except may be Amir, as they are all still pretty young. But, since you asked......
Crowder is on a terrific contract and is only 26. I would LOVE him. And he checks the box on Thibs Big Three needs: Defense, toughness, and shooting (although last year was the first year he really shot it well from 3, so I'm a little skeptical based on the history of imported players over the years that shot worse with us than their prior stint). Start him next to Wiggins and then let's go!
Crowder + something from their war chest of future 1sts?

Saw on realgm that the Knicks do actually want Crowder but if they want the 7th pick they should understand that the Wolves would want Crowder

Seems like JB and PG are getting close to the "I just want to win mode" and perhaps believe pairing up together along with KAT would be a formidable trio of players. KAT is already the best or second best offensive big man in the game. If anything, he's still the #1 offensive option in this group, so yeah, the other two would need to give up some shots in this lineup.
It's a pipedream, but not COMPLETELY out of the question. Just super risky because of George's desire to go play in LA obviously.
With the cap being less I'm starting to wonder about trying to find our own Crowder, Harkless, Aminu type. The Bucks got Kris Middleton in that Sign and trade deal with Knight and Jennings.

Well, we should always be looking for guys like that. Under-the-radar guys that can still blossom into standout players. I loved Aminu for us even before Portland snagged him....very disappointed we didn't make a run at him.
This is the thread we're using for the actual unfolding of picks correct? There should be a no spoiler rule with Woj info and let everyone enjoy it organically

Yes it is and I promise I won't spoil anything.
Or perhaps you guys should watch The Vertical too!

I don't like hearing Jonathan Givony's certainty in saying the first 7 picks are locked in with us taking the Finn, unless we complete a trade for Butler. Man, I'm going to have a hard time getting on board with Markkanen.
