Maybe shoot better then 32% from 3 or 62% from the FT line and I might care about his feelings. If you suck as much as he has, there is absolutely no excuse to not be happy with his role. He's lucky he's starting.
Ya the Timberwolves 5th all time leading scorer and 6th fastest in NBA history to 6000 pts (5 players who did it faster will all be HOF). Man he sucks. Shit hopefully we can unload this terrible player.
I mean he has his faults. I don't think even cool would disagree with this. But to say he shouldn't start is so dumb.
Its fucking Doogie being Doogie, he even mentioned he was spit firing on the radio and bleacher report just blew the story up for clicks. And there is nothing to the story and that is from Doogie. Now should Doogie said anything no, but come on man.
Also these are the types of post that set Cool off. When there is no objectivity at all. Now if there is truth to the story it is a terrible look for wiggins. Because he just got paid and he would be complaining after leading the team in shots and playing on his first winning team.
The story probably isn't true. But at the same time it's hard to be a great player when you can't shoot. Isn't that why people wanted Ricky gone? Why give Wiggins a pass? Because he can dunk? That's not even bringing up the laziness or weak effort he gives way too often.
Like I said, he has the talent to be Kawhi but is on pace to be Rudy Gay. So we will see.
Um Ricky best year in terms of eFG% is worse than Wiggins worst year. Big difference. Wiggins has a higher 3pt % for a career. Higher % from 10-16 ft. 12% higher from 3 feet and in. Once again Wiggins has his faults no doubt. But he is 23, 6th fastest in NBA history to 6000 career pts behind only HOFs. Has improved defensively this year and has proven that he can be a 3rd option on a playoff team.
Wiggins TS% is second worst among starting SF's in the NBA. Has a PER 23rd among starting SF's.
He's gotten stats, sure, but not wins. I'm not saying Ricky was a good shooter, he's real bad, but Wiggins is real close overall. That FT% is a killer. Ricky has him by 25%.

In games Jimmy did not play this year
13 games: 21.3 pts 4.4 rebs 3 asts .7blks .9stls 48% FG% 35% from 3. 6 W and 7L
So Wiggins has stepped up with Jimmy out. Now is he perfect no. But he has been efficient.
There is 3 other players that have put up numbers better than or equal to 21.3 pts 4.4 rebs 3 asts 48% FG and 35% 3. Those 3 players are LBJ, Curry and Durant.
Now do I think Wiggins is in that tier of course not and once again he really needs to improve but he has really stepped up since Jimmy went out.

I hope he can improve because we need it. Also for the fact that to resign Butler and KAT, Wiggins needs to likely live up to that contract. Which bothers me if we lose 1 or both, we're screwed. I can sort of understand the poor shooting, but I can't excuse the low effort.

I don't believe the story. Doogie is notoriously inaccurate and uninformed. I'll repeat myself here by mentioning Doogie reporting that the Wolves were about to take Payne with their first round pick just before the Wolves went on the clock. I knew at the time it was complete BS because Flip told me personally a week before the draft the he was going to take LaVine with that pick if available. So either Doogie has horrible sources who can't be trusted or he just makes stuff up. And that was back under Flip's regime, which was pretty wide open in sharing information. By contrast, Thibs' regime is like Fort Knox with information. If Doogie couldn't get accurate information during Flip's regime he certainly can't be trusted to provide accurate information now. The fact that he's backtracking again is another sign that Doogie's report is bogus and he knows it.
So my strong recommendation is to assume Doogie's report is complete crap. By all accounts Wiggins is happy to be here and no doubt he has to be thrilled with his max contract. He must also be happy finally playing on a winner. And let's get real. Wiggins is not an alpha dog. So it defies logic to believe that he's unhappy playing third fiddle to Butler and KAT. It's just unfortunate that an unreliable idiot like Doogie gets national coverage on his bogus reports even as he backtracks out of embarrassment over what he knows to be the questionable veracity of those reports.

What's it mean to be a 3rd option?
After all, Wiggins leads the team in shots per game. Sure, he has fewer attempts than last season... but even then... not as big of a drop as Towns.
Towns is taking 4+ fewer shots per game than last year despite being one of the 3 most efficient shooters in the NBA. He's taking 2+ fewer shot attempts than Wiggins. So whether or not Wiggins really is standing in the corner all game or not... what's that say about how KAT is being used if he's shooting even less?

I believe it. He said Wiggins was whispering it. You know he doesn't have the balls to be overly vocal and make it known

Two respectable wins in a row and we're back to talking about Wiggins ups and downs. It could be worse. We could still have Lavine on the team. :) Cheer up Wolves fans. I'd hate to see you all once we're in the playoffs.

Personally, I think it's a non-issue. Towns, Butler, and Thibs all seem to be in Wiggins' corner. Those are the three most important figures in the organization. I also don't see how Wiggins could logically feel the way the report says. He leads the team in shot attempts, he's basically been given free reign to play how he wants, and until recently, he hasn't been asked to guard the opponent's best wing. Things were made to be easier for him and a lighter workload on his shoulders this season.
