I think it's harder to use the strength you have with the ball on offense when you're not... one with the ball.

I agree that Wiggins defense has dramatically improved in the last 14 months. When the national media criticizes his defense I wonder if they are reading reports from 2015 . . .

I do believe that Thibs is working Wiggins way too much and I'm convinced that a 33 minute Wiggins would be a good defender and if we ran a modern offense he would be a great offensive player as well.

Everyone in the NBA knows how to defend the Wolves and with Wig you can collapse and slap at the ball and be rewarded. If we were running a high motion offense you would see higher quality shots and better ball control because it would be harder to double team him.

Part of me hopes we move Wiggins so that he can become the great player we thought he could be.

Good players don't need a specific system set up for them. Wiggins has played under three different coaches and the needle has hardly moved since his rookie year. He still can't shoot, pass, rebound, or handle the ball well on a consistent basis. That has nothing to do with what system he plays in.

I do agree his defense is, er, less inconsistent this year than in the past. But he's still not even close to the two-way stud Flip thought he was drafting.
