He can be a cancer in the locker room and has a bad reputation with refs. I don't want him around our players.

Can you provide some background here? Maybe some quotes from teammates, coaches, etc. Thanks.

KG punched a teammate and Sprewell strangled a coach.. Artest punched fans and then became "World Peace. Matt Barnes has had some incidents too. Rodman and Rasheed weren't any better behaved. Sanders will get back in the NBA somewhere and he'll likely have a team friendly contract so that there is little downside.

I think you are underestimating what his attitude can do to a locker room

How many of those guys turned their attitude around on losing teams? Winning does an awful lot to keep hot heads in check.

Larry sanders and the wolves wont have a future together, I can guarantee that. So its a waste of time debating about him.
The teams that will look at sanders are playoff contenders where sanders might fill a small role for them and they wont risk anything if they just cut him. Think of beasley in his last 2 miami stints. The guy walk away from the league with guaranteed money and contract. This isn't a player that asked to be traded or a player a team wants to get rid of. This is a player that quit on the league.

Good post and if Saunders ends up needing some easy good money he can play in China with some other uber talented goofy guys like Beas and Marbury.

It would surprise me if the Wolves pursued him too. I just think its a low risk opportunity to sign the guy and if he pans out some team will have pulled off a steal, sort of like what Miami did with Whiteside. Then again he might be Oden or Beasley in which case you release him.
