I don't think K-Mart has as much trade value as some of you think. He's old and a 3 and no d player. He's not going to get us the Pizza Delivery Man or even Collison.

Guys like Martin are exactly the piece teams look for to move the needle a little in their favor. He scores 15-20 PPG efficiently which is exactly what playoff teams want off the bench and his contract makes him easily tradeable. A team like Memphis would die to get him, but he just wasn't on the table when Flip was running the team and Sam's Lavine PG stubbornness might be keeping Milt from dealing Martin as well,
Re: He of the glass jaw who's name shall not be mentioned...
I think what is lost in the "I told you so" banter about Ricky is that many teams employ more than one good point guard. The Wolves should definitely be trying to supplement the position to maximize on court production and off court recovery. Are they doing that with playing Zach at point and having the oldest pg in the league back him up? I think they can do better.

Smart/Martin/Crowder covers for Martin defensively and Martin can handle Thomas' existing scoring load. We would get a PG who can both come off the bench and be an effective starter when Ricky goes down. I think both teams get what they need in the trade.
Ainge gave up a 1st to get Thomas last year at the deadline, I think he sees him as one of his better players. Boston has plenty of PG's and sometimes teams do crazy things for shooting so who knows its worth putting out there.
I'd put the chances of them being interested in Martin for Thomas at zero. Thomas gives you basically everything Martin does but younger and he is a playmaker. I doubt his defense is any worse. Thomas is a career 36% 3 point shooter that's good enough and he shoots a high volume of them. I am a big fan of Thomas.
That's basically my opinion too, like I said before Ainge gave up a 1st to get Thomas and we all know Ainge loves 1st round picks. I am a Martin hater so I'd throw the trade out there hoping for a counter offer that was reasonable. Boston seems content on being a middle of the road playoff contender that has assets in youth and 1st round picks, so I think they are more looking to trade multiple young assets for a super star then go after Martin.

hey it's ok, another player who had a completely different injury and surgery is also having problems with a bad hamstring so its just's fine that Rubio is dealing with the same
I think it's important to note how each team played up/down the injuries. With Durant, they indicated they would look at it in 7 or 10 days and Durant would be out until then. With Rubio, wasn't he listed as "probable" for those first couple of games?
With Durant, everybody knew he was out and wasn't really close to playing.
With Rubio, the team made it appear a return was imminent, so 4 games and still no Rubio draws a lot more attention.

Exactly. The team also lacks transparency (this dates back to last year too) with their injuries whereby we have no clue what's going on or get any sort of timetable. Why not give us a range? He can't be the first athlete in history to experience hamstring soreness. I'm sure there are reference points for these types of conditions.

I don't know if the team is handling this stuff poorly... or Rubio is simply a pussy and the team is letting the public in on it on the sly.

Abe, you are off base here. This is a TOTALLY different injury than the previous 11 that have kept him out of half of his career games. There is simply nothing to the "toughness" of a player. These are just "freak incidents" that don't show any trend, but rather just unlucky. This guy is tough as nails....just go watch him rehab.
Man, were we LUCKY to be able to sign him for $55MM. Given the new deal, it will seem like a boon to only be paying a guy $12MM per to watch half the games from street clothes. So between KG, Rubio and Pek, we have $33.3MM locked up in salary. Well, at least we get relief next year...oh wait...no....we are lucky enough to have all three of these players back next season as well! Well played Wolves FO, well played!

I highly doubt that's the case. His effort level when he plays belies any notion that he is somehow a shrinking violet that babies himself.
This is the problem with the team's lack of transparency - it leads to fans filling the void of information with their own made up theories. Here are four theories, all with different angles to them:
The Man-Up Theory - He's a wussy that has been cleared to play, but his tolerance for pain is that of a 7-year old.
The Protect the Pick Theory - The Wolves are too good with him and might lose their pick, thus we need to back off a bit and leave him out long enough to rule out any chance of slipping out of the bottom 12.
The We're Really Concerned but Can't Let the Fans Know Theory - It's far more serious than the team is letting on, but they don't want to let the fans and media in on it for fear of driving down future ticket sales.
The Damn, We Might Make the Playoffs Theory - The team actually believes they are good enough to make a run for the 7th or 8th seed and they want to be 110% sure Rubio is healthy and ready to play big minutes. They will take their lumps now for a future payoff.
Re: He of the glass jaw who's name shall not be mentioned...
Does anyone actually know who is making the call if Rubio plays through this hammy issue? Last I heard, the people in charge are playing for the future, not for right now. Seriously has anyone seen or heard a quote? With other teams it is widely reported when it is up to the player or when the team decides to keep a player out. For all we know, Ricky wants to be out there.
