How about Ersan Ilyasova as a comp for Bjelica?
More mobile, better handle, longer than Ilyasova. I think he's more Gallinari/Mirotic/Parsons/Diaw/Casspi-like. Just my opinion, though.

Bold statement there cam. Gallo/parsons/mirotic/diaw are starters in the league. Ersan is a solid rotation guy in the league and has good length for a 4 and a good rebounder and quite mobile himself.
Im not an expert on bjelica but from what I have seen, he is more casspi/ersan like than a league starter in gallo/parsons/diaw.
I think the point with those comps that is valid is NB is a ball handling guy and can pass. If he can actually stroke the 3 ball and play average defense he would fit in pretty well with the players we have actually. How good will he be? Idk but he doesn't have to be an all-star talent to a key player for this team. Sure he is turning 27 soon but let's not have that hold us back from adding a quality player. He could be good player for us for 7 years if he is the right fit we keep him around and stays healthy. Lots of ifs there but it seems like he has really grown into a very solid player and i think I'd like to see him play for us next year.

Not the worst news. It at least show Flip is semi serious in bringing him over if he went to visit him. I don't think Flip seeing him play has an impact on if they sign him or not. He has a enough game history to go off of.
Yeah, he is definitely a guy who is in his prime right now. Might have more value to a team on the cusp than us at this point. Hope Flip at least explores that avenue.

Like I said in another thread I don't think anyone really knows how Flip values him. Maybe Flip can't decide either. Lol it kinda reminds me of when Pek was planning to come over Kahn seemed pretty non committal saying stuff like "I want Kurt to go watch him play..." He hadn't drafted him and obviously Pek was worthwhile but he didn't fit Kahn's mold of player long and athletic etc. anyway a few months later Kahn signed him to what some wolves fans thought was a bunch of money but it was probably a little above the going rate but fell in line with what guys started getting down the road and Pek was a pretty good player and was 24. Maybe Kahn was hoping some team would throw him a good offer for Pe but that never happened and so they signed him.
Bjelica was named the euro league MVP he is a top player there and he turned 27 days ago so he isn't young but isn't old either. Obviously the guy has accomplished enough to think he can have value on an NBA roster. The question is do you want him on your roster or maybe you can get something for him you like better. Where the Wolves land in the draft could be one thing that could affect what Flip wants to do with him. It's nice to have a euro guy with some actual value for once and actually we have 2 of them. I feel like more Euro guys have come in the last few years and had more immediate impact. he could have a nice amount of value even if a te has to pay him some money.
One thing I continue to like about NB is his theoretical skill set which would fit well with the wolves on the roster.
I think it's a relatively competitive starting five with some nice blends of defense, offense and shooting. I don't know if it's a playoff caliber unit, but it'd be fun as hell to watch.
I believe Bjelica is playing tomorrow in the Euroleague equivalent of the Final Four. Keep an eye on how he performs.
I have no clue what Flip is going to do with Bjelica, but based on his performance this past season, he definitely should hold some decent value around the league. It's just a matter of whether we sign him or trade his rights to someone else. We'll end up with a solid asset either way.

Yes, and this is where your GM needs to come through and maximize that value. If it's with us great. But if he can get more for him than what he would bring to us, by all means lets move him.
