Re: The Case for Russell
I am not a huge fan of WCS in this draft. I think he will be able to be cheaper this time next year. As for Russell and Rubio. I don't think you need to dump Rubio, but if he can get you a big you do.
I could see this lineup for small ball with 3 guard lineup of
Rubio, LaVine, Russell, Wiggins, Dieng
I don't think we have to solve the PF/C this offseason since we will have another crack at it next season. Pick the best player and be done with it. Hopefully we can turn Martin, Bjelica, and 2nds into something. (not saying trade Bjelcia)

Re: The Case for Russell
Richard Pitino told Wolfson that he would not take Russell #1. To me that's a pretty good source on the value of Russell. He had to prepare against him, and probably knows his strengths / weaknesses very well.

Who cares? Pitino is not Izzo. So this means nothing.

Completely unrelated , but Pitino spoke very highly of his own pg Hollins saying he would be the steal of the draft with the 1st pick .:)

Re: The Case for Russell
Anyone else had this issue? ...
So even though I think we definitely need a big, especially when there are 2 great prospects at the top of the draft, i keep having this feeling that we're gonna screw up by passing on Russell as he goes on to be far and away the best player in this draft.
Just wondering if anyone else feels that same way, or maybe im being a smart wolves fan setting myself up to expect imminent failure?
He shoots, he passes, he rebounds, he plays decent D, he's a leader, he's everything you want in a PG/SG really.... I really think moving martin and playing a 4 man rotation of Rubio, Russell, LaVine, and Wiggins at the #1 and #2 spots would be a great thing.
28 mins for Ricky at PG, 20 for Russell,
28 mins for LaVine at SG, 20 for Wiggins

Re: The Case for Russell
I'm just spit-balling, but if:
Karl Towns becomes Rasheed Wallace.
Jahlil Okafor becomes Brad Daugherty.
D'Angelo Russell becomes Brandon Roy.
Which player would you take?
[These comparisons aren't perfect, but I'd be curious to see your answer.]

Cam - That is kind of how I feel about it. I would take Roy. I would he peaked as the best player in the group. I am also guessing we are not considering injury and mental issues when referring to that group.
