I think Upshaw will be one of those guys that if not handled right might bounce out of the league and then make his way back when he is closer to 25. Does Flip think they can deal with him? Past says no.

I still really like Bjelica and Dubljevic. Good potential with those guys, especially Dub.

Any chance we get either of them to come over?

I love Upshaw's upside. Really would want to dig into his issues. I think I would want KG to talk to him and see if they connect at all because the guy will need some help to get his life on track.

I'm 80% certain that we see Bjelica in a Wolves uni next season as long as we pay him accordingly ($5M per). Dub won't be here for a couple years, but is still a Rising Star overseas and his game fits the mold of the current NBA. Also, there's a slim chance Flip trades one (or both) of these guys if he sees fit. Personally, I would not, but we know how he operates... *cough* *cough* (the Payne trade)

Upshaw's been one of my guys to keep an eye on and have mentioned him a good handful of times on here. His physical ability can't be taught, regardless of his lack of fundamentals. He protects the rim (most BPG per40 in this year's draft), rebounds and gets trash points (putbacks, drop-offs, lobs, occasional post bucket). Cam likes that a lot.

Didn't know anything about Upshaw. Seems like maybe a Whiteside type guy. He obviously has some personal issues, and he is already 21 years old. Also, shot 42% on FT this season. That being said, if we are talking about a 2nd rounder....then he would certainly be in the mix for me. But he absolutely better nail his interviews.....which I highly doubt.

I draft him and see what happens, I might be in the minority here but I don't care about character flaws for second round picks because they are easily cutable, is he has potential to be a game changer defensively and cost less than 1 mil then why not

I have no issue bringing him over, but I can't see paying a guy 5M a year when we don't have any idea how he will fit into the NBA game. This is how we continually put ourselves into salary cap purgatory.

I don't care if it is 5M a year for 2 years with a team option for 3rd. I just don't want it more then 2 years. I think both parties would be open to that.

That is usually what happens, pek made that. Mitotic is making that. And Shved, was also about 3.5 a year

Sadly this Payne trade was complete panic and not sure for what since it was not like we were trying to win.

Upshaw really seems like a talent, but drafting him is as much about us as him. I think he can thrive if he lands in the right environment. If he doesn't he will crash and burn for sure. I think Freddy has done well with these types at Iowa State.
