Rooms at the Best Western within walking distance are relatively cheap too. Not as much fun as the strip, but basketball is better anyway :)

I live within driving distance to Vegas but I'm gonna be in New York for a couple weeks. I will have to settle for a internet feed I guess. Maybe I can DVR them on NBATV.

It should be a blast watching our young athletes doing their thing with the Russian Rubio and in Vegas.

Something just came up last night that's going to keep me from going again this year. Too bad, because it's really going to be fun to watch our rookies, last year's rookies and Shved at PG...not to mention all the other exciting rookies from this year's draft. Flip is going to learn a lot about what these guys can do, and I would have liked to have been in the stands learning with him. Can Dieng play PF? Is Shved an option at backup PG. Has Muhammad developed over the offseason and can he handle some minutes at SG? How far away is LaVine from contributing? Oh well, I'll be looking for these answers on my computer screen instead.

For those of you who are going and aren't looking for the glitz of the Strip but just a good deal, La Quinta on Paradise is only a mile away, has a nice pool, and is well under $100 a night. Check it out on tripadvisor.com...very good place.

Wolfson tweeted the Wolves are looking to bring in Fesenko the Center that played for Utah for a few years. I always kinda liked him its probably because he looked kinda good in SL. Lol He might be a good guy for Dieng to practice against.

They're off and running in Orlando. Nerlens Noel looking like the real deal, but Smart and Napier showing why scouts were worried about their shooting...worse than Rubio. Check out this Lakers workout video. Our guy LaVine looks pretty good, but Smart is a bricklayer!

Where are you located? LST and I are both in the LA area I believe.

My calendar may be changing, so I may actually be in Vegas now for the first game Saturday against Dallas, and then again for the first playoff game the following Wednesday. I'll keep the board posted, as it would be fun to meet some other enjin forumers and discuss what's happening on the court.

I have said before that I am an advocate for Alexey Shved as Rubio's backup and hope that he can show Flip in Vegas that he is ready. Having said that, his terrible play at SG the past two years makes him far from a sure thing. To that end, I'm happy to see Markel Starks as Shved's backup at PG (although I know we will see LaVine there at times too). Starks had a nice career at Georgetown, and while not being overly impressive at any one aspect of the game, he always gives the impression of being a very smart PG. He is careful with the ball, at least adequate at distributing, and more than solid at the foul line. A good choice for summer league.

Eric Perkins "@PerkatPlay: First impressions of Zach LaVine at summer b-ball tonite.... explosive, remarkably composed, good court vision, and serious hops #OnBoard"

Nate Sandell "@NSandell: LaVine: "I have high goals for myself. There's still a lot doubters out there. I read everything on Twitter. I keep them""

Jon Krawczynski "@APkrawczynski: Hard to glean much from workouts against summer league guys. But LaVine definitely is about 3 cuts above from athleticism standpoint"

Kent Youngblood "@BloodStrib: LaVine on first pro practice: "you want to turn some heads.. I did my best to make plays""

Kent Youngblood "@BloodStrib: Flip: "I thought LaVine was outstanding today .... There is no question he can play some (point guard).""

"Defense is all about effort and like I said, I'm ready to work hard." - Zach LaVine

For those that didn't like the GRIII pick, and those that just want to watch a smart player go to work, open this link and enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=N1jXC0Mr5jI

Robinson was a steal in the 2nd round and I sincerely think he has starter potential.
