If the Broussard deal (Love/Martin/JJ/13 for Klay/Lee) ends up being the best offer Flip gets, does anyone on this board want Flip to pull the trigger, or do you bring Love back and roll the dice. Like all of you I want to hear a better offer, but since this is the only solid rumor out there, what do you do?

Personally, I run as fast as I can away from this deal.

Frankly, I'm not even crazy about Love/Martin for Lee/Thompson/Barnes, but I would do it...after trying to swap somebody else in for Martin.

Who also told you weeks ago that Love was going to get moved by draft day, and still most of you think he will play for the Wolves? Oh yeah, that was me too. Just sayin.........

You're not doing that deal for Waiters/Thompson, you are doing it for Wiggins or Parker who have the potential to be an even better player than Love.

I hope you're right, cool, but I'm not seeing offers getting better like you are. Broussard says it's Klay and Lee for Love/Martin/JJ/13th pick. That's not offers getting better...that's grand theft larceny.

And let's focus on who the source of that is... Chris Broussard aka "the sources guy". He spews more bullshit than the great Bill Simmons himself. Anyone remember Broussard guaranteeing that Kevin Love would be a Laker, according to his "sources"? I do. Guess how relevant that theory is now... It's not.

The only thing I take away from this is that Klay Thompson is, in fact, on the table. And why wouldn't he be? He's the centerpiece of any serious Golden State trade offer. Again, that's a no-brainer for the Warriors if you're trying to acquire a stud like Kevin Love. Their current core isn't good enough and they know this would be a huge move for their franchise. Shouldn't surprise anyone.

Zgoda tweeted that Flip said he was NOT moving the 13th pick. There will be rumored deals flying out (Denver and Golden State) this whole week leading up to the draft. I doubt the reported ones are what have been discussed over the phone.

Long -- I agree with you. I honestly think that Broussard doesn't have his facts entirely straight. Something the Wolves might be discussing is a three-way with the Warriors and Celtics along the following lines:

Wolves get Lee, Barnes & Thompson from GS and get #6 from Boston
Warriors get Martin and #13 from the Wolves and get Green, Bass & Sullinger from Boston
Celtics get Love.

Not sure why the Warriors would do this deal except that (1) it's reported they are desperately trying to trade into the first round; and (2) they would get some much needed depth having struggled last season from their lack of depth. Green would give them depth behind Iggy at SF while Bass and Sullinger would given them a decent tandem at the PF position alongside Bogut. Martin would replace some of the 3-point shooting they've had with Klay.

By essentially swapping #13 for #6, the Wolves would guarantee themselves a player they covet who is unlikely to fall to #13 and would get some good young players in Klay and Barnes.

Just a thought.

Although nothing can be taken as gospel truth with all these rumors floating around, I have to admit I liked Zgoda's tweet saying Flip won't give up #13. The Broussard rumor was frightening.

Cam's right in his post above...the best news of the day is hearing that Klay is on the table. Especially since the news came from his dad. Doesn't mean anything is going to happen, but it opens the door a little. And hopefully creates a little urgency with the teams with the high draft picks.

I forgot Mychal (former gopher) is his father. This changes my perception of trying to land Klay for the wolves. If we can squeeze an extra draft pick this may not be that bad. Maybe Mychal is telling his boy some positives about Minnesota? I was just assuming Klay would be yet another California player that couldn't wait to leave Minnesota.

I think Cam's post in this thread captures the current picture perfectly.

When leading into revealing his son Klay is in play for a Love trade, Mychal Thompson on LA radio said, "I'm too depressed to talk about it."

"If this happens, I will have to talk (Klay) down from the ledge," Thompson said.

Well... That's... Interesting...

Yeah. Ignore my last post. Great news there.
