Cam, your hypotheticals are out of this world. This isn't NBA2k, no way the wolves are going to be making 2-3 big trades by/during the draft.

I said it somewhere else but I'd be happy if we ended up with McLemore, Gay, Randle, and maybe another pick or pick swap a couple years out. I think McLemore is still a solid prospect who showed decent improvement, Gay would be the best SF we've had, and I think Randle will be a solid PF. A couple other minor moves and I think the team could actually improve on last years record.

I think you need to trade martin if your going to trade love to shed his salary. Martin dont make sense for us if we are rebuilding.

Gay is not a bad player and is actually the type of wing who will work well with rubio. He can create his own shot and play off the ball as well, i dont think we ever had a wing like that.

If Martin doesn't make sense for us rebuilding, then neither does Pek or Gay. And by create his own shot, do you mean doing a couple dribble moves and then hoisting up a tough mid-range jumper? There's a reason why the teams he's been on get better when he leaves. I'll give credit to him that he played efficient basketball for the Kings, but I still wouldn't want him.

So if we're keeping Gay, then I'll keep Martin too and try to trade both of them by the trade deadline. Value-wise, throwing Martin in that deal makes zero sense to me. We'd be giving up the best player and arguably the 2nd best player in the trade. (To stay on track, Gay may have an edge on Martin statistically, but I think Martin hurts you much less)

I only do a trade with the Kings if we have trades lined up after in which we can turn 8 into something better. If it's 8 + Gay, then so be it. Maybe 8 + Gay to Utah for 5. I don't know, but that's what I'd want in order to make this deal good for us.

Cam, gay is a huge expiring contract while martin is signed on for 3 more years. Gay could net us value at trade deadline while martin is difficult to move. Your obviously not a gay fan and thats okay. My point is we need to get rid of martin and buds contract if we are moving love. Wr are loaded at the wings if we add gay and mclemore so we need to move some wings and i dont think martin and bud will bring us much value in individaula trades so we package them eith love.

I'm all for moving Bud with Love. Martin isn't just a contract, though. He still has value in the NBA. Not trying to keep this going on for long, but that'd be throwing him away for the sake of just doing it.

And we'd be loaded at SF. Still very thin at SG. But I digress...

So Gay is gonna turn down almost 20 million the next year? I'd hope so but I don't want the guy period. He is even more overpaid than I thought he was although his contract is almost over which I thought it was another year than it is. I'd rather blow the whole team up and do a total rebuild than have him come back as an asset unless the Kings were paying us a good chunk to take him back which ain't gonna happen.

IDK how anyone takes seriously reports the Kings are in the lead to get Love thats a total freaking joke.

Martin >> Budinger

I think Martin has trade value. He will be a good bench scorer for the life of his contract.

Pek is still a beast. I am not ready to go with just Dieng just yet. I like having Pek as plan A and Dieng as plan A1.

I agree with this. I also think dumping Bud in a deal might end up looking like a bad move when he ends up healthy and turns out to be a pretty solid rotation player like what happened with Webster. It was just a few months ago Bud took less money to sign here and teams wanted him. I'm not saying keep him at all costs and I realize he is making a decent chunk od money but just dumping him seems a little foolish to me. I think he is a useful player if healthy to the Wolves or another team. Health is the only question about him and imo he is more likely to end up healthy than Webster was. Some people say we are loaded at SF. I disagree until we have at least a starting caliber guy there we aren't loaded there at all.

Who was going to pay more for Bud? I really didn't understand the market for him. I would have rather signed Dunleavy then resign him and he signed for $3M a year. I say dump him if you can. We could have a solid team built around Rubio, Pek, Martin, Dieng, Brewer, and Shabazz. Then add in whatever rookies we get. What would our cap space in 2015 look like if we only getting expiring contracts back for Love and pay Rubio 10M a year.

Well Chase did say that he turned down more money to stay with Minnesota.

I told everyone here Sacramento is the team that makes the most sense.

Gay+McLemore+8 for Love. We aren't going to do any better than that.
