We've been getting along just fine... but if the Celtics don't win that title... the Lakers do. And I can't have that. I CAN'T HANDLE THAT!!!

At least that team, even if they were a bit unlikeable, had a legit "team" thing going on. That Ubuntu stuff or whatever... it was a culture. I actually enjoy it when teamwork wins. Out in LA... you had Kobe Bryant doing his thing, but it always seemed a bit more personal for him... with everybody else just along for the ride. Those Celtics all took sacrifices for the good of the team.

Haha, though I'm no Laker fan, I would surrender a paycheck to reverse the outcome of that finals series. It was a tough one for me to take. Not sure when you were a Celtic fan, but I was on your side during the 80's rivalry. That '86 team was the best "TEAM" I've ever seen.

Yes. I loved the 1986 team. Most of my formative basketball memories are from about that time. It was hard to go from a Celtics fan with all that success to a fan of a fledgling expansion team overnight. But alas... I got used to the losing.

There's been A LOT of losing.

That most recent Laker/Celtic championship series was a no-win proposition for me, since I despised both teams...it was really difficult for me to watch. But as awful as that series was, this coming playoff series between the Bulls and the Wolves will be very enjoyable.

As a KG fan, I really enjoyed that series. I generally have rose-colored glasses, but KG was the key cog in making that team a defensive stalwart and yet unselfish on the offensive end. My dislike for the Lakers and love for KG helped me overcome my dislike for Doc.

That was my favorite NBA championship series since 1986. Easily.

A team sacrificing to come together to beat what was historically one of the most notoriously egotistical, selfish players in recent NBA history? Yeah, I enjoyed that part... along with it being the Celtics over the Lakers.

When "the good old years" consist of 7-8? straight 1st round playoff exits and one WCF run, your probably have a losing culture.

And the culture starts and ends with the guy on my left. As long as you have that guy running the team, you won't be able to completely vacuum out that stink. You never hear of a bad owner being a part of a championship organization.

I won't argue this team has had a losing culture, But when Kg played here years ago this team had a chance to win in every game they played almost solely on his presence on the floor. Had there been more talent around him who knows. Of course we've beaten that to death on here.

As far as Kg being here now I can't believe that his involvement in every day scrimmages and practices won't have a plus affect on the youngsters , regard less of munites player in real games. I read an article where KG took a rookie out shopping and bought him a whole wardrobe and told him it's important to dress professional to be a professional. Now I understand that may not lead to results on the court . But u can't tell me that kind of teammate and his actions will breed anything but positive attitudes in the locker room.

I think KG effect will be huge. My concern and honestly it might be KG's concern too is he might not get that from Flip. The Celtics organization probably opened his eyes a little. I would think some of the stuff here will wear on him if it doesn't get fixed.

True, but KG was here before in an even bigger role, and Taylor fucked it up with Joe Smith, keeping Mchale, dumping on KG, numerous bad contracts, ect. That guy is still in charge until he isn't. So I can't fully trust the culture change until someone else is on top
