Haha I get your point lip, but I think we should be more critical of this organizations inability to develop draft picks into good players (see Leonard, Kawhi)

I can't disagree with you on that, Lloyd.

I think it's worth pointing out that Gregg Farnam is the athletic trainer for team USA.

Monster, thanks for clearing up the mystery about what happened to Paul George last summer! (just kidding, by the way)
Even though I have participated in this thread, I don't believe that replacing Farnam and his staff would be a meaningful move at all. The fact that he is the team USA trainer tells me enough about how he is perceived. I think the Wolves' injury issues are a combination of misfortune (Rubio's two devastating injuries, Martin falling on his wrist in the middle of a career game, Love punching the wall while having a violent argument with his girl friend) and brittleness (Pek), and not the fault of the staff. It's just extraordinarily bad luck. And the bad luck is combined with a decision by Flip to not rush players back at the end of a lost season.
Pek will continue to struggle with injuries, but at some point the Wolves' injury luck is going to change, and the results are going to be dramatic. I like the fact that they seem to be targeting guys in the draft with no history of injury (Wiggins, LaVine, Dieng, Muhammad) and with the exception of Muhammad this season, our new guys are staying healthy. To me that's another reason that I am wary of Mudiay...I think he's the only one of the top 4 who has missed considerable time with injury.

Good post. I think the people that are questioning because of all these injuries have a good point. There have been a lot of injuries to Wolves players for what like 5 or 10 years? what injury player though over that time can you really target as a guy that. Could have been prevented? How many games has Love missed with the Cavs this year? Pek is a massive human being and centers age very poorly after the age of 25-27. Those guys miss time it's just the way it is and Pek is going to likely be worse than average but those guys generally miss 15+ games a year.
I'm not saying the wolves couldn't have done some things to improve the health of players because they probably could. It seems like Flip has done some real work in this area since taking over. He wanted to manage Peks minutes this year which is worth trying. Nike made Pek a shoe. Flip suggested Bennett and Bazz go to that crazy trainer in Cali. He has the partnership with Mayo clinic. Sometimes you just get injury prone dudes. The wolves have gone through a stretch so have the Bucks, GS, Portland. Those are franchises that were just decimated for years with injuries and never seemed to be able to get anywhere because guys were always hurt. Sometimes it's bad luck. I'm not suggesting that Farnam is the most amazing at his job or the Wolves are the best in the business but I also don't know if they are to blame for all these injuries either but the questioning is very rational. Whatever the wolves medical staff did right with Derrick Williams needs to be replicated. Lol
