They've beaten two teams that have their eyes on the draft. Crazy how fans think beating them is more relevant than increasing the odds of getting the same players these teams are purposely losing to us to go after. Sure they have injured players but there's no way they think beating the TWolves with a couple games left will benefit their organization more than increasing their draft odds.

And these are organizations with more clout as far as making the right decisions for the future of their teams. Virtually every team but the Bobcats and the Wolves find a way to become competitive in some fashion sooner rather than later.
But this is the year the Wolves win meaningless games as a way to better the team going forward. Yeah right!!

I was thinking the same thing, Cool. I don't know whether KAT cares. I just know I love watching Vando grab those rebounds that would otherwise fall into KAT's hands. :)

Speaking of Vando, he's a joy to watch. His hustle, energy and relentlessness are a sight to behold - sort of Rodman like. But he has some skills too. Let's remember this guy didn't play much in college because of injuries. So he likely has a lot of upside.

I'm seriously agreeing with you on this one, Cool. Edwards is definitely the key to this franchise. If he becomes the players he's capable of being and becomes our top player with KAT as our #2, then the Wolves will be a team to reckon with. I didn't love the Edwards pick when we made it, but I'm loving it now. And let's not forget McDaniels. His defense is so fundamentally sound and his defensive IQ is really high. I see a budding offensive game in him if he puts the work in.

There's a pretty enticing nucleus of young talent on this Wolves team in Edwards, KAT, McDaniels, Naz, Vando, Beasley and DLO. I'm intrigued by Bolmaro, who will supposedly join the Wolves next season. And I still like Nowell.

Importantly, we finally appear to have an NBA-caliber head coach. In fact, I think we might have a really good one.

I don't think tanking is an overall good strategy unless your team is devoid of all young talent.

I'm on board with winning versus getting a few more ping pong balls. We have plenty of young talented players that need to understand this organization prioritizes winning over anything. You can't just tank forever and ever hoping for the next LeBron (extremely unlikely) while destroying your current player development.

While these last two games we were facing just slightly better G league teams, it's still nice to win. Don't forget not too long ago we beat Utah twice in a row. The Wolves have a winning record with KAT/DLO and Ant. It's too bad that both KAT and DLO and others like Beasley have missed so many games this year. We still had to wait for our young guys to develop though (Ant and McDaniels), so even if all were healthy I'm not sure we make the playoffs this season. Though we did start 2-0 before injuries/covid started so who knows really.

I'd say things played out not too bad. Ant got plenty of playing time and has really been coming around with higher efficiency. McDaniels is great on defense and has plenty of playing time. We got a better HC as well who looks the part so that can only help all the young guys as well. KAT and DLO have been getting a little time together finally as well.

Little ray of hope for the future.

What I found entertaining in watching this one was the joy and overall energy the team was playing with. These guys are gaining confidence and we saw some great playmaking. That DLO pass to JoMac was ridiculous. But there was that other sequence with the KAT outlet to Rubio who immediately found Vando for an easy hoop. The ball never touched the ground.

We'll see how things play out in these last three games against legit playoff teams. But I agree with WolvesFan, there is definitely a ray of hope for the future.

I was at the great KG win in the playoffs against Sacramento, but I believe this win last night rivals the importance of that one...the Detroit win was a huge win for this franchise. I don't think anyone saw us beating a team with Sekou Doumbouya and Killian Hayes, but our boys dug deep and shocked the world by beating the Mighty Pistons. We have been patient with the losing ways of this franchise for years, but the impressive wins this week against Orlando and Detroit have proven to me that we have turned the corner. The losing culture is OVAH! I thought we needed that top three pick this year to be able to compete in this league, but this week's critical wins have shown me that I was wrong. Brighter days ahead, boys...

I think it's cool to see the team improving and really enjoying playing for each other. There are definitely some encouraging signs as they seem to be buying in to what Finch is preaching. But wins in May aren't going to do it for me. They need to show me something in November for a change. I've bought in to some fools gold too many times with this franchise. But at least there appears to be some hope.

Yes. November is when things really matter.

I'm taking these wins as a sign of competence? Consider the alternative if the Wolves were struggling with this core vs. teams trying to lose.

Baby steps. Eventually... some day... hopefully... we'll be running.
