Brett Brown has been coaching the team to play hard on defense and move the ball on offense since they were bottom of the barrel. "The Process" is finally paying off as he now has the talent. They could be a very dangerous team if they can stay healthy.

So HInkie was right but won't get any of the glory for the success of "The Process".

I take Simmons + Embiid.

I think the upside of both is higher than their Wolves counterparts.

And while I do think the vast difference between KAT and Embiid's durability makes this decision a lot more difficult... I'm just not sold at all on Wiggins being part of any Big 2 on any legit squad.

[Note: Incredibly, Simmons has been this effective without being able to shoot beyond 8 feet. It's alarming... but is it even more telling?]

Missed this previously....

He was right and wrong. Sure, eventually when you suck that badly and trade that many assets away, you are bound to get some talent in the door. But did they really have to put their fan base through 3+ years of pure misery and constant churn of players: 19 wins, 18 wins, 10 wins....then they finally were a little competitive last year and won 28 games.

His first moves were to draft Michael Carter-Williams and trade for Nerlens Noel, both of whom ended up as busts relative to their draft position. He drafted Embiid, but skepticism remains that he can stay healthy. His next pick was Jahil Okafor. Oops.

I think the best move he made was hiring Brett Brown. That he should get credit for, but otherwise he did a lot of losing without much to show for it. You gotta nail more of your picks if you are going to put your fan base through that kind of losing.

Nobody seems to care about the fans when discussing the Process... and many other issues in sports today.

That championship or bust mentality has been touted by the media into something that eventually fans began to agree is the only way to be entertained or to root for a team.

Q forgets some of the genius of Hienke. Lol Yeah sure he drafted MCW who was ROY and looked like a nice player. Sam traded him for that Lakers pick. There were a number of trades where he extracted more than you would have guessed a team would let go of. He should get credit for bringing in Covington and TJ McConnell. Was it all good? No. The injuries were crazy and some guys didn't work out but his plan has merit. They are owed at least one 2nd round pick from now through 2021 and will have another 1st coming either in 2018 or 2019. I think he will get credit for this team if/when it becalmed really good. Much of that (maybe all of it) depends on the health of Embiid.

But I think part of Q's criticism is that the entire process pretty much snubbed its nose at loyal 76er fans.

"We're going to try to lose... but make you pay for that anyway."

Monster, Hinkie did some good things. But if you are going to burn the building down to the studs, you can't continue to keep burning it down year after year and that's effectively what he was doing. It's not fair to the fans.

By the way, my Dad is 81 and a loyal Wolves season ticket holder. Now God willing he still has plenty of good years ahead of him, but when a team goes through "the Process" and every year things get punted forward to the next year, what do you think a season ticket holder my Dad's age thinks? What might work on a guy's spreadsheet doesn't make a whole lot of sense to people paying for a competitive product!

(of course, may be my Dad and the Wolves are a poor example in this case! But even in the midst of our long playoff drought, there have been some occasional glimmers of competitiveness).

Q- Philly fans wanted this to happen because they got tired of being mediocre. Philly is a tough town, a title or bust town in that sense. Fans who attend games don't give a damn what your ultimate goal is. They just want you to win that night that you happen to be in attendance. Sixers have higher goals than just making the playoffs and being on that treadmill because they knew that stopped being fun. For that I don't blame them. If this results in a championship and a parade, you'll forget all about the tough times. We as Wolves fans can't relate because we generally don't put TC sports franchises through those kinds of expectations (the Vikings probably the closest)

Wildwolf, I live just outside of Philly, so I have a pretty good feel for the fans here. I would say most fans are fine with stripping a team down to the studs and going through a re-build. The problem with HInkie is it took too damn long. You can only churn through so many assets and keep losing sub 20 games for a season or two, not three years of pure misery. "The Process" took too long.

Ok Q I get where you are coming from. However I'll say that "The process" looks to be more effective than the re-re-re-re-re-rebuild* the Wolves have been doing for how many years? It's taken way too long here!
