I would offer them Martin and 1st (top 5 protected this year and 3 next year, followed by 1st) for Portis and Snell.

I think Portis will be better than anyone we can draft outside of the top 5 this year and likely would give up our pick to the Bulls. Then we get a flyer on Snell to see if he can be a 3-D guy for us.

Love the ideal of acquiring Tony Snell. This guy has a chance to develop into a legit 3 and D guy and could be a nice fourth piece in our wing lineup behind Wigs, LaVine and Bazz. Seems like Chicago have cooled on him, but I think he's a guy that would benefit from a change of scenery to flourish.

Bleed I don't think CHI has any intention of trading Portis. They are trying to move Noah or Gibson to free up PT to develop him. Although a top 5 protected pick would be enticing for them, personally I wouldn't be prepared to trade away another pick for another gamble at the PF postion.

Kevin Martin and Adrian Payne for Taj Gibson and Tony Snell.

I don't think Portis is available unless we offer one of our untouchable players. We don't have a first to trade having traded two of them away. Maybe we could trade Bazz for Snell and Martin for Gibson. That would make us a much better defensive team and we would still have plenty of scoring ability.

I would be tempted to give up LaVine for Portis and McDermottl.

I think you need to slow your roll with the Portis love. Lavine is worth way more than Portis and McDermott. Lavine has a chance to be special. Portis is most likely just going to be a good NBA player. You don't swap the dollar for 75 cents in this case.

I like LaVine a lot. Seriously I was saying after the state fair before their rookie year he might be better then Wiggins and still feel that way, but I would have picked Portis over LaVine if he would have left college after his freshman year. I think he has a chip on his shoulder that would be perfect for this team. We would have your PF and C of present on the team. We would have our lights out 3 point shooter. We would have Wiggins playing SG and Rubio as PG. Pretty well balanced team. Only thing is Wiggins and McDermott are not much of rebounders, but I think between Towns, Portis, and Rubio we will win the battle of the boards most nights.

Why would that chip stay on his shoulder if he would have been a lottery pick last year? The chip comes from a lot of teams passing on him and dropping to the 20's. I don't want to make trades with guys like Lavine to get better balance. I want to end up with the best player for our pieces. Not give up the best player for someone else's pieces. So Portis becomes our 4 and then we still need to look for a starting caliber 3 because McDermott is a bench scorer. How is that any different than when Zach starts and we need to find a starting caliber 4? Only Zach's ceiling is way higher than Portis' because he's a way more versatile player. Portis is solid. He's just not near Zach's ceiling and we need the best players we can get moving forward so I think Portis/McDermott would be a downgrade and set us back. I think Flip had a lot of faith in Zach as a great homerun gamble so I'm not sure too many guys including Portis jump him on Flip's board.

Bleed I like Portis but man you are going over the top for him. We aren't getting him move on. There will be plenty of other opportunities to add a young PF.

If Ish Smith is worth 2 pretty decent 2nd rounders Martin has to be worth at least one. Lol it sounds like Martin and the Wolves are all on the same page and that probably means he wants to go to a team with a shot at playoffs etc and the Wolves want something worthwhile. Both sides get that it's time for the young guys. Sounds reasonable to me.

Edit:

Speaking of the Sixers do you think they would give up a first rounder for Martin? Lol

I am just bummed we didn't go after him in the draft instead of Tyus. I am sure Kevin Martin would have had some good value during the draft last year to make a move for a late 1st.
