Yeah, I'd like to see Butler off the ball a bit more now that he has KAT and Wiggins and run sets with him in the corner. He is a career 43% shooter from the corners, but he had the ball on the wing so often in Chicago, initiating the offense, that I don't think he got a ton of looks from the corners the last couple years.

And by the way, guess what Wiggins career % is on the corner 3? 40%.

So I think Thibs needs to find ways to develop sets where one of these two is in the corner and the other is operating on the wing or at the top of the key to break down the defense. They have to find ways to manufacture quality 3-point looks since they don't have a natural sniper on the roster (yet). Getting these guys a larger % of corner looks would help and they can do that now since they have help around them.

We'll see....Even I have to admit he's not the ideal fit with Wig and Butler playing 25-30 MPG on the floor together, but spending 18+M per year on Hill/Teague/Holiday...not sure I want to do that and ignore our needs for a 6th man wing and PF. Plus if we trade Rubio successfully to fill one of those two needs, there is no guarantee we land one of those three free agent PGs. And Derrick Rose sucks - much rather have Rubio over him.

What backup PGs are interesting? How much does Patty Mills cost?

Unless the return is significant for Rubio, I think I would rather spend free agent resources building the bench. Rubio is still young and just had his best season. Some players take time. He is entering his prime and his contract is reasonable.

Rubio, Butler, and Wiggins will all need to be resigned in two years with KAT the following. Glen better pepper his angus!

I think Ricky is gone.

Shooters? My favorites are CJ Miles and Jodie Meeks.

Yeah, but you and Duke always think Ricky is gone...

A trade seems unlikely. I would expect the majority of our cap space will be spent on adding FAs to fill out our roster. Look at the depth chart:

Rubio / Tyus
Wiggins
Butler
KAT / Belly
Dieng / Aldrich / Patton

Damn! We've got a lot of bodies to add!

It's possible the Wolves keep a couple players that were on the roster last year. Bazz could be one and now with Butler Rush could even make sense or Casspi. Having roster spots to fill can be a good thing. This team has some opportunity for backup roles the way the roster is set up. That could be appealing to some guys especially since Thibs has gotten some good production out of guys that weren't exactly highly regarded when he was in Chicago.

Yup. We also have that Boganhooterhooter guy that could come over...
