No need. He's cheap enough to let him rot on the bench next year and play if an emergency calls for it. After that, we can just decline his option and let him go. That was an awful, horrendous trade Flip pulled. I said it on this board then and my feelings about it have only grown stronger. It was also puzzling considering the timing. We still had Young and Bennett at the time. There really was no need to do that. Think Flip got hammered with old buddy Tom and made a move based on that relationship. Unfortunate for us.

A large part of that is because we're playing three guys that aren't good enough to be rotation players for an NBA team (yet?). Payne, Muhammad and Jones are all net negatives. Add in Smith and it's four players that fit the description. That's even harder to watch considering how Mitchell lets them play together as a unit for way too long.
