There is no way to retain that core IMO and that's the problem with not having a continuing flow of young cheap talent, refreshed each year as others come off their rookie deals.

I understand what you like about him, but the team would be better in the long run dealing another player than a cheap top draft pick.

You're right in that there might be cap issues in the future if you sign all of those players. I'm not certain that it would be devastating, though. In that bunch, I see four keepers: Towns, Wiggins, LaVine and Noel. Dieng could be re-signed if it's at reasonable cost, but if not, I'm okay with it. I'm not as attached to Dieng as others here are. He's solid, but not great. Also, I'm still not sold on Muhammad being a rotation player. He has two damning holes in his game: defense and court vision. That limits his role player potential to me and in today's NBA, it's hard to win with players like that.

I don't know about Kaplan but I have a feeling spending money on guys that are really good even if it included paying the luxury tax won't hold back Glen after all the losing he has gone through.

I do not share your faith, especially with Glenn looking towards his exit. Regarding Kaplan, if he's not on board with being in the luxury tax then there is no way I can see Glenn going there if he's hoping Kaplan is his exit plan.

Looks too damn skinny to me. We've already exceeded the skinny guy cap.

What do you guys think of myles turner of the pacers. Will you trade a top 5 pick for him? He has been playing at a high level right now and is an ideal fit with towns and dieng. The concern with him during draft time last year was his knees, he has been healthy and productive. His shooting stroke is great for a big and will fit in nicely between towns and wiggins.

Pacers see him as their future and will only probably consider trading him if it were a top 2 pick.

I wouldn't trade a top-five pick for him. The Pacers probably wouldn't trade him right now either. No dice.

How much do we have in free agency to spend this offseason?

Uh, let me try that again. How much money do we have available for a free agent this offseason?

Based on a projected cap of $89M and $60M in salaries, it will be around $29M. I already subtracted KMart's salary.

If we get the chance to draft Ingram, I'd take another skinny guy. Rabb is really long and plays with energy. He gets compared to Bosh but I think that's only because of their size similarities. Rabb is more of a post player and doesn't have 3 point range. He rebounds well, efficient scorer in the post, can block shots and a decent defender, but he's skinny. Probably more similar to Dieng than Bosh in playing style. He is potentially a better defender (though his college numbers are worse than Dieng on that end) but without as much range as Dieng (though Dieng didn't show much range in college either). He's raw, so he's either a rich man's Dieng or a poor man's Dieng, only time will tell.
