As a back up all u can look for is a handful of skills he brings to the table and that he hustles every night. And I think he does that . Better than a Mark Madsen that works hard but brings zero skill set to the equation.
I agree, especially given his bench role. There is no such thing as a complete bench player outside of the rare 6th man of the year types. Bazz has a skill every team covets, what he needs are players around him that compliment his strengths and compensate for his weaknesses. There is not a defensive minded player on the second unit, if they had a couple then Bazz's weakness would be less troubling.

I would say Bazz's weaknesses are easier to live with given his role and minutes. Oddly on the first unit he has much the same problem as Bazz, players that not only don't compliment his strengths, they don't compensate for his weakness.
You don't build teams around bench players. Bazz either fits or you move him. You don't try to put players around him that complement his game because they need to compliment Wiggins and Towns and Ricky's games and they need a different type of player around them than Bazz. If Bazz was a spot up shooter who could defend at least at an average level and move the ball he would fit, but he's a black hole who is a bad defender so he doesn't fit with this team. We shouldn't be focused on bringing in guys who compliment Bazz on the second unit because we should rarely ever run out the hockey shift in the first place. Bazz only fits next to Wiggins which isn't enough to keep him here in my opinion. If we brought in a guy like Batum then Bazz fits because he could play with two guys, but right now he can only play with 1 and that's not good enough to stick around.

Well your boy Ricky plays a lot of minutes in every game and the losses continue to mount . Do you watch him in end of game situations?

It is just a terrible take about shabazz by TeamRicky. So when towns minutes have been over 30 the wolves lose. So we shouldn't play our best player. PorkChop can make the argument of Ricky because ricky is the starting pg of this young team. Shabazz is not the deference between a 50 win season and a 40 win season while ricky is. I don't understand the attack on shabazz when he is a bench player that has an above average niche in the nba
Don't blame me blame the stats. When Bazz plays 20+ minutes, the Wolves are 7-34. Last year they were 2-20 with Bazz's minutes 20 or above (vs 14-46 when he got fewer). This year, its 4-13 when Bazz gets 20+ minutes (vs. 9-18 when he gets fewer minutes). On the other hand, its a very different story when Ricky plays vs not playing. Ricky is good for wins and Bazz is good for losses.

Don't be so sensitive. People attack K-Mart all the time. Some attack Ricky all the time. Some hate on Dieng constantly. Frankly, I think Bazz gets too much love here and should be fair game for criticism. I think we'd be a better team without Bazz getting heavy minutes and I'll continue to post stats to support that point.

I think people like the heart and hustle Bazz shows and I do too. We really don't have many guys that play as hard as he does. But it is hard to reconcile those good, eye-testy feelings about him with his actual impact on the court, which is indeed pretty awful. He's got one of the worst offensive AND defensive ratings on the team. So even though we think of him as an instant-offense type of player, the offense as a whole doesn't do well at all when he's on the floor.
Given the fact this season is nothing more than an experiment at this point, I would be fine with starting Bazz in place of Prince just to give him some run with the starters and see how he looks in that context.
All Bazz has to do is learn to play with his teammates instead of against them. Until he does, he's extremely limited. When I watch him play, I get the feeling he's planning for his 2nd NBA stop. He's trying to score as many points as possible in the limited time he gets. He thinks that what he's putting down on tape now will be appealing to multiple teams who will bargain for his services. To an extent he's probably right. But to be a big part of this team he needs to be a better teammate. If he could do that I think he would be a valuable part of the core.
