Wolves v Hornets.
Re: Wolves v Hornets.
I'm going back to the Wolves v Heat thread, it was way more fun.

Hard to know without having seen it. Some nights shots just won't go down and other than LaVine, we had a ton of guys miss a ton of shots. Were there a lot of poor, contested shots where an extra pass would have been the better choice or were they mostly good shots that just didn't go in? Bazz and Dunn jacking up 25 shots between them seems like a little much! I can't believe all of those were good shots.....
Defensively, we seemed OK overall, but allowed Charlotte big 2nd and 3rd quarters.
Did anyone get hurt? If not, the game was a success.
You are setting the bar pretty low, but yeah by your standards tonight was a success. I really was impressed by LaVine tonight and that in itself is a big positive. I thought Karl and Belly took good shots. Tyus, Payne and Hill were 3 for 4. But shooting 34.7% won't win many ball games.

It looks like this dude got the whole game on periscope. The video is up if you want to watch it. It's broken up into a few videos. If you start the camera work gets smoother after the first minute or so. I may have to check out more of the game later I just watched the first couple minutes. Maybe there will be a better feed later but this is something.

Not only that, but now Thibs has plenty of material on what the players need to improve upon (well, besides hitting their shots!).

You're welcome to join the LaVine bandwagon!

Buddy Hield never would have gone 0 for 5 from deep. (ok, I'll.let it go)

True, but shooting is one of those things that can come and go - it's not completely in a player or team's control. Defensive effort, making smart decisions with the ball, schemes, matchups, etc.....those things are in far more control of the players and coaches. If we are going to judge the pre-season games beyond my own low bar of guys just staying healthy, then I think you want to look at things like opponent eFG%, rebounding, and turnover differential. I'm not worried about our offense.

Interesting that you mention Hield, Jerry. I wasn't a big supporter of drafting him (although I would not have been opposed), but he has had three terrific preseason games...averaging 17 PPG in 28 minutes on 53% shooting (40% on 3's). With Evans out for awhile with a knee injury, Hield could very well be the starting SG at least at the start of the season and become the early favorite for ROY.

LST -- You might recall I was an advocate for drafting Buddy. Bummer.
