When Ricky was out all those games in years past everyone said If Ricky had been playing the W/L s would be a whole lot better .
Now he's playing with the most talented players he's had and the W/Ls are still no different . How can that be?

We'll either take our lumps for two more years waiting for all the young talent to be veterans or surround these guys with legitimate NBA players as soon as this off-season. That's on management.
Edit: It's a shame we traded a 27-year old Thad Young for a 39-year old Kevin Garnett when we very likely could have had both this year, especially with our PF position being as shitty as it has been. Ahh, well, thank goodness we had those KG memories at the end of last year. So totally worth it...
Not to reopen old wounds... but a signature NBA personality recently said Thad Young offers the most trade value on the entire Brooklyn Nets roster.
So that brings up the question (again): Could he have been used to get somebody else besides a guy who was very likely coming here anyway?

one thing to keep in mind Thad opted out of his deal because he knew the Nets were gonna pay him. We don't know how Thad's contract situation would have played out here. Maybe he opts in for his 10 million or whatever or maybe he opts out and cashes in. Both of you make valid points and I think I have been pretty clear about liking Thad and thinking is a solid to pretty good player depending on your definitions.

This is true. I don't think having Young opt out only to get a long-term deal by the Wolves was gonna work after his uneven season last year.

I'm not sure about the wins part although they do technically have more wins this season and Ricky was part of the winningest non KG team.
I do see that their point differential was -8.8 last season and with Rubio and Towns it is now only -3.7.

I would agree he's playing with the most talented players in his time here, but they're also the least experienced.

Am I crazy for thinking that KG played a big role in our early season success? We started 8-8 with him playing consistent minutes. Since he's been out the Ws are rare and the defense is much worse . Is he most responsible for the wins we do have this year? I mean it's not completely out of line thinking.

He helped set a good tone, but in my opinion he never played enough to be responsible for any wins. Hard to have that big of an impact on the game in only 15 minutes.

Fair enough, coincidence then of him not playing and the losses beginning to pile up. .
Re: Game Report - Wolves v. Knicks
An argument can be made that KG made our defense better. Which means he has more influence in our defensive efficiency than our coach staff does.
