Thanks for posting this Cam. I was curious how you valued a few guys. It feels to me like there are going to be some nice players available outside of that 2nd tier. Even outside of the lottery it looks like there could be some good players fall like Valentine seems like a nice player outside of the lottery. The Raptors (their GM Has done a heck of a job there)need a PF and they are sitting at 9 and will likely have a lot of interesting options of talented young guys there.

Have you heard the talk that a number of NBA folks consider Poeltl a PF at least to start his career? What are your thoughts about that?

Appreciate the time and effort Cam. I just don't get the chance to follow college basketball, so a few youtube clips is the extent of my knowledge on things, so really appreciate the contribution.

Of course, purely in the interests of good fun banter, I'm gonna have to save this thread and bring up any opinions that weren't perfect in years from now. :thumb:

Cam, I'm also glad you did your draft board. I won't have change to watch or even follow much university basketball, so it is always nice to get information from those who have been able to really follow those players.

I might even use your expertise when I'm doing my part in mock draft of some Finnish basketball board. I'll came here to give you credits if my pick turned out to be steal. :thumb:

No problem, monster. I hope with my tier structure it's clearer on how I feel about prospects that might not have gotten much discussion here.

I think this draft is full of role player types. So, while I'm not necessarily in favor of moving out of the No. 5 position, it wouldn't be a terrible move barring a player such as Sabonis or Poeltl, to name a couple, dropped to an advantageous draft position.

I have seen that on some draft sites. People seem to question his size right now and think he'll get pushed around by NBA level bigs. I think he can and will improve his body, but I can't get the images of him holding his ground against Okafor (2014-15 NCAA tourney) and Valan?i?nas (2015 international play) out of my head. I think he's an NBA center.

I'm sure you won't be the only one! It's all in good fun. If one of my sleepers breaks out, I'll be sure to head back to this thread myself, lol.

Haha, of course! I'm sure you could probably put together a decent big board just off your statistical analysis. Always value that from you even if it's against me in debate!

The tiers are a really helpful way to communicate how those guys are valued. Just 1-30 isn't that helpful when obviously at some point of any draft a bunch of guys won't be separated by much.

I keep hearing Poeltl moves really well like in that workout with Towns. Maybe one reason he was beating those guys was he used his quickness instead of his girth. Dieng did that this last season at times with plenty positive results (but not always). I remember especially that first meeting against Okafor where Okafor was housing Towns because Towns was bound and determined to play Okafor like Towns was a big bad center and it didn't work. Dieng came in and played to his strengths. Fronting, being a pest, poking the ball away etc basically playing like a big man version of Corey Brewer or maybe a more sporadic Kenyon Martin. I haven't seen enough of Poeltl to say but is there some of that to his game or am I looking for something that isn't there?
