That was bizarre and then on top of that he played him. Sam again comes off looking like a jerk.

In addition to that it always bugs me how Sam how goes so over the top to make a point. Last night he went on and on about how the starters have been so good lately and the bench hasn't given them much. It was only what like 3 games ago he benched his starters and played his bench most of the 2nd half.

But against smaller lineups, KAT and Dieng does not always work. We need a solid 3/4 guy that can be used to matchup with other team's smaller lineups at times. Bjelica could be that guy. Another guy that could have filled that role was Dante Cunningham. It's nice to see him doing well in New Orleans.

IMO right now the Wokves can likely afford to pony up the money for Dieng. We don't know what the future will hold for the composition of the team and salaries either but it's a gamble. Dieng does well against some of those smaller PFs actually which is the surprise for him playing PF. The Wolves need to find a strong lengthy SF wing defender along the lines of Crowder Aminu Harrison Barnes etc. it could be someone more along the lines of Aminu but I think we need someone a little more perimeter oriented and just a little more talented than Dante but a player like him would help too. If Hummel could stay healthy and hit 3's he would be an improvement over Rudez.

Yes. in 35 minutes he played Wolves conceded 73 points. In 13 minutes with him on the bench Wolves conceded 35 points. You can see intangible qualities in almost every game if you open your mind to it.

There are typically any number of better way to handle everything Sam does.

And Walker's 34? Almost half of those 73 pts were on Rubio. He must be assisting on everyone else's great D when he is on the floor while ignoring his own man. There's a reason why there are still calls for better defensive metrics in the NBA.

See, you don't want to open your mind to it. You keep making it PG vs PG when in fact the game is team vs team.
No point in even having an argument with you.

1. This post ignores the fact that Walker's been insanely good after the All-Star break and especially the past three games before last night's. He's riding hot. He's not a bum.

2. Walker scored 34 and yet somehow Rubio was the more impactful player with his measly 10/10/5 line. How is it possible that Rubio's +/- was 7 points higher than Walker's and yet they were on the floor together pretty much the whole game.

Rubio led the Wolves last night in +/- with +15 and also had 10 assists and only 1 turnover. He helped fuel that big comeback after our bench dug a hole. He made a couple mistakes guarding Walker, but that dude caught fire and was hitting closely contested 3's. That shit happens in the NBA.

I think Doper has joined the club Alex and Porkchop started, where no matter what the overarching data states, every missed layup, outside shot, or defensive assignment needs to be pointed out as the reason he's such an inferior player.
