What flip should do is to make 1 last effort this offseason to build a contending team around the core of love-rubio-pek. he blew his chance this past off season. Martin is not good enough to be the 4th guy to push us into contention. Flip better step up.

Martins stats are a bit bloated by his scorching start to the season. Hes really been an avg player the last 25-30 games or so. He'd be a great instant offense guy off the bench for a title contender cuz when hes on hes on. But he isnt consistent enough to be counted on as the third wheel. From what Ive seen. I had high hopes for him too. Just hasnt worked out in typical Wolves fashion.

- 15 PPG in Dec. (40/33/86)
- 18 PPG in Jan. (45/39/81)

I don't see where you're credible in anything you just posted, PorkChop. Average player's don't post numbers like that, especially when they are the third scoring option on the team (Love and Pek). And as a third wheel, he's a pretty good one.

My only problems with Martin is when he gets shy in fourth quarters and his propensity to try to draw a foul instead of get a good shot attempt. K-Mart plays about eight minutes in fourth quarters this season and only scores an average of 4 points during that time. That's not good. We need him to be better than that.

For 6.5M this season, I'd say he's been really good and well worth that money. You can't find production like that for only 6.5M a year. Again, just talking about this season and ignoring the next three on the deal. An average player, though? You're way off.

I guess I used the eye test when he was scoring 20 plus early on. Now they seem to be far few and in between. But I stand corrected. Thanks for the correction.
It still seems he shows up big alot less. Shouldve done my homework before posting.
Without checking what were his Oct/Nov avgs?

the Love/Pek front court just isn't conducive to winning close games. We should trade Pek for a lengthy/energy defensive oriented center that can protect the paint. I think one of the reasons Portland has done so much better is because of the addition of Lopez. Noah is wishful thinking but he would be perfect next to love, energy, hustle, and defense. Got to figure out something because standing pat will not cut it

It seems he's a liability more often than not of late whereas I had the same impression that he simply couldn't miss early on. I agree with Cam though, he would be a great bench player which is where he belongs at this point in his career barring a sudden improvement in consistency.

I like the sound of that.

Cam, I agree with much of what you said here. I would rather have Martin as a 1st or 2nd scoring option on the 2nd unit, but, if that is not going to happen he makes a VERY good 2nd/3rd option on the first unit. He is 22nd in the league in scoring playing in a back-court with a PG that, for most of the season, everyone knew was not going to shoot the ball.

For 6.5 mill, it would be tough to name 5 SG how are a better bargain that are not on their first contract.

The body language of our players was the best I've seen it all season during the Denver game. Love looked happy and like he was enjoying himself. I guess winning games will make you feel a lot better.

I really don't think this team needs too many changes. We have a good starting unit and the chemistry between them is growing day by day. Brewer is probably best suited coming off the bench, but he is great in transition playing next to Rubio and Love.

FLIP would be a dumb-azz for trying to trade love now. One word removed, much better
