The "teddy bear" didn't let anyone back him down and pushed his defender out to the ft line on occasions. Also had some big blocks. But he doesn't yell and scream so you bash him for that, but if he was yelling and screaming after the game he would just be called a bad leader.

I'm not bashing Pek, alex. I think he's a great attribute on this team. And I didn't see the game, but I'm not surprised that he played some tough D tonight. when I say he is a teddy bear, I mean it's not in his nature to set a teammate straight, no matter how much damage he is doing.

I don't mind Love calling out his teammates if he really has some concerns. I think that's fine. I just think it's chickenshit to do it through the media rather than face to face.

You know that this stuff happens on other teams too, and we never hear about it. The difference is that those teams win.

To be fair, we don't know what is happening behind the scenes. Would your attitude change if Love calmly wrote Barea a note about this stuff. Or, took him out for a coffee to discuss them.

Might not happen that way. But we don't know.

No you're right, Abe, and I made the same comment in another thread. Emotions run high in a pro locker room, and a lot of shit happens that we don't know about. My beef with Love is that he thinks it's our business to know what he thinks about his teammates. I don't want to know. I just want him to go 30-15-4 and shut the fuck up.

I find it more interesting than any cliche Leslie Frazier uttered in the past 3 years.

Ha, yeah I'm a big Frazier fan, but he did seem to corner the market on both clichés and losing.

Barea for JR Smith. One chucker for another. Clearly Barea has his own attitude issues, but I know there would be an attitude alert in reference to Smith with the damaged Minnesota sports psyche.

If love had already led this team to a championship and won a scoring title or two would it be more acceptable that he calls the team out? Are leadership roles defined by team success or personal accolades? I really dont know but I have no problem with players calling it like it is. Someone has to stand up in that locker room and be the bad guy.

I actually like that Love is spouting off, calling people out. People can take it both ways, motivate and center some, or push others away and make some defensive. A strong locker room will be motivated. I too am overly critical of Adelman and his staff right now. He just is not one to develop talent, Rubio needs a mentor like Sam Cassel, and Adelman needs to realize that the rotation needs adjustment. Which he has not done.

I was just thinking the other day that Cassel should be asked back to work with Rubio. I think that would be a perfect match. If Rubio can make 85% free throws there is no reason he couldn't bring back the Cassel 12-15 ft jumper.

Do uncontested free throws have any corrolation to hitting hand in the face jumpers?

He has no problem getting around his man but usually pulls up early for his 2s or gets tunnel vision and goes to the hoop. Cassel was a master of spacing. Rarely was a man in his face on his 12 footers. He just knew how to be deceptive and use screens closer to the hoop. Plus he added a bit of a fadeaway lean to his jumper. I think Rubio's basic problem with shooting from distance is that he is a whimp. He has the abilty to get closer to the basket without having to shoot a floater, just like Cassel learned to do with no jumping ability whatsoever.

What I see with Rubio is terrible form, from his release to the way he sets his feet or doesnt set his feet. If he dribble drives and pulls up for a shot hes not actually pulling up . He jumps on the move and is usually fading left or right while releasing. Thats a very hard shot to make.

PorkChop...I don't think you quite grasp the concept in regards to adding a mentor for Rubio. Cassel was a incredible player...but his passion, fire and ability to be CRAFTY was unparrel in my opinion. Rubio does struggle...his shot is flat and he struggles even getting layups. What I would like to see is Cassel showing him what the power of a soft mid range jumper can do, plus gaining balance and strength while keeping his dribble while in the paint. Rubio is a Ferrari at heart, wants to run...and quickly...but his idle speed sucks. Cassel was the master of breaking down a defense and creating a soft 10-12 footer.
