With a ball dominate PG who can't score, how should a team be constructed?

The bench has two issues. The first is that our coach is expecting more out of the players he's using than they can give. You can't throw out a shoot first PG with three untalented players and expect them to provide offense. Having Love, Pek, or Martin on the floor helps somewhat, but they all come with there own defensive issues, and that tends to contribute to the problem.

DC is a minus defender on most nights along with Hummel, and Luc doesn't look any better than average to me. You can't have three hustle players on the floor together and expect them to run an offense. At some point Adelman is going to have to accept the fact that he has to develop the young guys, unfortunately by the time that happens, it will be too late in the season to make a difference. We are starting to see a clear line in the standings with four teams below us closer in the standings than the next team above us. That means too much competition to move up.

Kidd and Rubio's 3pt% are within .001 of each other. Don't act like Jason Kidd was some sniper from deep that year.

I agree with those that say we should not tinker with the starting lineup right now and we should focus on the bench. We are very similar to the Mavs of 4 years back other than at center. PEK is clearly an offensive threat vs Chandler a rim protector. Love is playing better or equal to what Dirk did that year. Dirk was a better closer during that season but I believe Love will grow to being equal or better in the near future. Rubio/Kidd is a wash as they were very similar. Martin/Brewer is equal to Marion/Stevenson. Thus our starting 5 this year are equivalent to the starting 5 of the Mavs that year. (We have a slightly better offense due to PEK whereas a slightly worse D due to them having Chandler).

To fix the bench we need a Jason Terry type assassin scoring threat who can shoot you to a win. Can this be Budinger? I don't know. They also had a hot Barea which we've seen on occasion and I think we can all attest that when JJ is hot we definitely want him on our squad. It has been really disappointing watching him go from hot to cold the last two seasons. Would a trade for Jason Terry be a thought right now? They maybe interested in Shved due to he's younger and has a tie to the owner for future development. You got to think we can get 1 or 2 hot bench shooters out of JJ, Terry, Bud, Hummel, shabazz from night to night. Other thoughts are go after OJ Mayo and Luke Ridnour and offer up Shved/Daunte/Shabazz maybe even Gorgi if we don't start using him. I'm in the camp that it's time to start using Gorgi and put Daunte on the bench for a while. Last year his top of the key mid range shot was money but now he can't score to save his life. Please Rick send him a message and sit him down!!

there is one more thing we lack and that is Rick Carlisle, i mean he is brilliant gametime decision maker, the more unique personal you coach the better adjustments you have to make to keep it working, Adelman is just very very bad at this category as he sticks with his schemes and rotations no matter what is happening on the court

I agree 100%.....that is probably the most important aspect that I left out of the summary.
