Our guys will have a total of five days of rest (no games) before playing the Heat. How about we steal that one in Minnesota. That'd be nice.

Cam, There is hope. Miami has played the easiest schedule in the NBA so far. In fact, we are the first Western Conference team they have played on the road this season.

So our schedule has lightened up considerably this week, but I don't see Adelman taking advantage of it. According to the Strib, the wolves only practiced on Tuesday so far, and have a practice scheduled for Friday. They had four off days, and didn't have to play last night but only manage two practices in that time. It is hard to understand why they aren't correcting blaring mistakes.

Don't know if it matters how much on-the-court walkthroughs they have at this point. The pro game is a lot different than college or high school.

I'm sure they know what they want to do. And it's about executing the plan in game situations.

They clearly need to work on the PnR defense. This has nothing to do with specific game planning (walkthroughs), and more about a basic defensive scheme. If this is as good as it gets for this team, then we are going to be really disappointed.

I am trying to figure out why we have a coach at all. A monkey could make the substitutions, and throw his arms up on missed calls.

Kevin Love's grandmother passed away. His status for the Heat game is unknown.


Of course. RIP to the grandma, but with this team, if it's not one thing it's another. If Love's out, go ahead and mark that game as a loss.

Maternal or Paternal?

Never mind. I looked it up. Maternal.

I don't know much about Love's maternal relatives, but his family is sure goofy on the paternal side. His uncle, of course, is Mike Love of the Beach Boys, known as one of the biggest a-holes in the history of rock music. He's been married five times, has sued various members of the Beach Boys on occasion, and is widely known as a selfish jerk.

Dad Stan Love is also often embroiled in controversy. He was one of "those" sports dads, even though he played professional basketball himself (where he was known as one of the biggest on-court complainers ever), and was banned from Kevin's high school games at one point. He also brutally beat up Beach Boy drummer Dennis Wilson in 1981 because he was doing drugs with brother Brian.

I'm a big Kevin Love fan on the court, but he sometimes has an edge to him that shows the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Sometimes there is talk on this board of Kevin needing to be a more effective leader, but I don't see it as being part of his DNA. The large chip he carries on his shoulder has a lot to do with his drive to succeed, and makes him an unbelievable overachiever on the court. But he seems to have the Love family selfishness gene, and is always going to do what's best for Kevin, and as such, I don't see him ever being an effective leader. Great scorer and rebounder, yes...leader, no.

Condolences to the Love family for their loss. Sorry about the family history lesson, but it's helpful sometimes in understanding Kevin.

Wow. You got through a whole post about Love's crazy paternal side of the family without mentioning the cousin who didn't leave his bed for 5 years. Fine work.
