Johnson is a decent prospect, I just think he's the opposite of what our team needs, bigs and shooting. Reminds me of a poor man's combination of Shabazz and Wiggins physically to be honest, which probably makes him a potential All-Defensive team, but I think he will seriously struggle on the offensive side of the ball because he won't be quick enough to get around guys at the NBA level and needs some serious work on his jumper.
Is this supposed to be funny? He is shooting 49% overall and 45% from 3. Also, he is a beast defensively. Seems a better comparison for folks to use is Jimmy Butler. That's what I see.
Also a cool tidbit: Bazz and G are at that OSU/MIN game together. Cool to see two of our promising young players going out and enjoying a game together.

Towns does get the benefit of the doubt though for getting to be the janitor next to WCS because he just has to clean up what WCS doesn't stop himself. All we can really say about his defense is he can be a weak side shot blocker out of the gate, but we have no idea how he is as a PnR or 1 on 1 defender because WCS does most of that work. Kentucky has so much more size and talent than everyone else that I don't see how you can hold the competition level against Okafor, but not Towns. There's not another frontline in college even close to Kentucky so he's not going to have the competition level until workouts for the draft. It would be interesting to see if he works out against Okafor or if they try to avoid each other leading up to the draft.
Neither Towns or WCS is the next AD. I have a feeling if Okafor would have went to Kentucky he would be starting and playing more minutes then Towns or WCS. He seems like a low risk pick as long as he is healthy.

Maybe Towns is the next... Towns. AD's a physical freak and a franchise player, but not every big has to be like him to be a star. Towns has high potential in his own right.

I said he has potential to be on the all-defensive team did I not? He has a low release point on his jumper and is 17 for 38 on 3s on the season. I'd like to see a bigger sample size. Derrick Williams shot 56% from 3 in his final year of college on 78 attempts.
In 2 games against ranked opponents he's been a combined 7-21 from the field.
He was great against Michigan going 8-10 from the field, but struggled against UNLV going just 3-11 and having 7 turnovers. So, yes I do have questions about his offensive ability when he's performed poorly/inefficiently in 3 big games so far this year
Do I think he will be a solid pro? Yes. Do I think he's a good fit with our current roster? No.
I don't see any game-changers in the 2015 draft. I don't see any Kobes, LeBrons, MJs, KGs. Iversons, Durant's, Westbrooks. I like some of the bigs among the top draft prospects, but I done see a Ewing, Hakeem or Anthony Davis among them.
So if the Wolves are able to climb out of the abyss after this season it won't be because of who they draft next June. It will be because of the development of those they've already drafted -- particularly Wiggins, LaVine, Dieng and Shabazz -- along with the return of a healthy Rubio. And it will be based on (1) Flip's ability as GM to convert upcoming picks and certain vets on the current roster into one or two vets who are actually starting-caliber NBA players; and (2) Flip's ability as head coach to get far more out the players he has - particularly on the defensive end.

I want tyus Jones, he is going to be a 12 year vet and a prefect and I mean perfect backup pg, maybe the wolves would do a anti wolves thing and buy a late first round pick (assuming he declares, what he probably won't)

I think there are alarms for him not playing more. That is a huge concern. I think if he was that good you would see him playing big minutes on games when they need him. It is not happening and that is concerning. I just can't think of that many examples where a college sub becomes a all-star in the NBA. I get flash backs to Waiters and Michael Williams when I think of top 5 picks that were backups. Not saying he sucks, but I don't think he is the best player in the draft unless he starts gaining more playing time.

Bleed, I said at the start of the season that Towns would likely not get the minutes this year to warrant going number one, and it looks like his mock draft ranking is really being hurt by his limited minutes and modest stats. But it doesn't concern me, and I still think he will be a steal anywhere 3 or lower. Calipari has so much talent that he has a problem giving everyone minutes. If he was giving Towns the minutes he deserves, he would have a mutiny in his locker room by some very deserving upperclassmen. He's basically running a platoon system with frequent substitution.
