Re: Knicks game report
I'd take Wiggins 10/10 over Parker. 18+ PPG and elite defense is going to be 100 times more valuable to our ability to win games in the future than 24 PPG and no defense. Melo and Love type players can't win you games unless you put exactly the right players around them. You can put anyone around two-way players and be successful. Love has never made the playoffs and Melo never won anything of significance when he has made it to the playoffs so that type of player brings no guarantee of winning anything. At the end of the day an elite wing defender who can be a secondary scoring option is going to be much more valuable to our future success than getting another big scorer who can't defend. We've already tried the latter and it didn't work with a top 5 player in the game. It's time to try to build around the other star type because it is easier to win with good defense and leaves more flexibility with how to build the roster around them and still be able to be successful.

It was a harsh difference in this game from Williams to Lavine. Having said that I really don't know what you do to open up a roster spot for a PG. Does anyone have a list of names of PGs out there? I think most everybody got signed this year. I think Lavine can hold the fort just enough playing some minutes to get us by for now all while learning. Playing him with Martin or maybe even Brewer will help him.
I like Wiggins I'll take him over Parker. I'm happy with what I have seem out of his offense and his defense is way ahead of most rookies he has really high potential there.
No way you trade Brewer after the way he has played the last few games.
Wolves seemed to be energized this game really had down what they were going to do were prepared. Peterson alluded to the idea that the Knicks were a great matchup for the Wolves for a number of reason, but the Wolves blew them up its fantastic.
Bazz Damn I love this guy. That transition dunk where he also made the correct pass to Brewer was nice, but that one rebound he had in traffic later in the 1st half where he was above everyone and looked like he ripped it away from someone was impressive also maybe even more so. Acy played him in SL so he knows how to defend him but he was mostly helpless.
If Wiggins and Bazz don't miss a couple dunks each this game would have been even more of a laugher and just an absolute highlight reel.
It feels good to beat the Knicks and nice to see a time when Melo doesn't beat us at the end.

I would talk to Knicks about Calderon for Bud. They might do it to have a shorter contract. He would be a good backup for this team behind Ricky moving forward. He seems like the type of player that will be solid until his late 30's.

I think aiming at Calderon would be great. Plus the Spanish connection. Wouldn't we have to give up more than Bud though?

That isn't going to happen Calderon is a perfect fit for the triangle and why would they want Bud they don't need anymore wings.
One other note on Bazz he was really more vocal getting pumped up on plays he usually just does his thing, but he was really getting into it.

Wiggins every day of the week Cam. I've watched both a lot this year.

3 reasons
1. Shorter contract.
2. 2M less a year.
3. The Knicks are planning to have a ton of cap space next summer.
I don't think Calderon is part of the future there. It would be worth the conversation. I would try to get them to take Turiaf too as part of the deal to even out the salaries. There bad start might make them want to look at the future.

Khans: I get what you're saying, but I'll completely disagree with your second sentence. 18 PPG and great defense doesn't carry a franchise. 24 PPG with a full arsenal of offensive moves can, and it's proven. And the only reason it didn't work out with Love is because our bonehead GM squandered away assets via draft, trade and free agency. That has nothing to do with Love. Also, we're assuming Wiggins eventually develops a handle, which isn't a given. Without somewhat of a handle, I don't see how he becomes this 18+ PPG scorer. That's scary to me. Whereas on the other side, Parker may eventually be a guy where the offense can give him the ball, let him create and he'll either get his shot or find a teammate in a good spot to score. That's a huge weapon.
Cool: I've watched every Wolves game and probably half of the Bucks games. Both have shown glimpses of their potential. Wiggins has shown defensive upside and Parker has shown his offensive feel for the game. It's too soon to declare who is better, obviously, but I can't say that I don't wish we had Bari instead of Drew.

I didn't realize Calderon was signed for 3 more years. Still that deal isn't happening if nothing else I don't know that Flip would want to take on that contract for 3 more years. If the Knicks can't get more than Bud for Calderon than Phil should fire himself.
Re: Knicks game report
I feel like I need to go back and rewatch the games or something. Wiggins (with apparently no handle) seems to have no trouble creating a shot for himself. He is already our best defender on the floor, and is only 19. Oh, and per 36 numbers have him at over 14 pts per game, so I guess that is how he will become an 18pt/gm scorer.
Wes Johnson flashbacks??? Do you remember Wes when he was here. The guy played decent D, but couldn't create a shot to save his life. Wes was also like 23 years old when in his rookie year.
Give the rookie a little more time.
