Martin fractured wrist out indefinately
Re: Martin fractured wrist out indefinately
I think you move Wiggins to the two, and start Shabazz. We need a guy that can create his own offense. You can have Cory and Bud come off the bench.

Exactly. I am salivating to see Shabazz and Wiggins out there for extended minutes.

Not a bad idea since it appears Wiggins can guard 2's. I think Flip likes the idea of mixing offense/defense, so a Bud/Wiggins and Shabazz/Brewer pairing makes some sense. Then again, Bud has really not done much this year so far, so perhaps he goes with the guys that have been playing the most minutes lately. Bazz and Wiggins along with Dieng, Mo, and Young (eventually) can work.

I like this a lot...hope Flip does too. Having all these rooks and 2nd year players in the starting lineup requires that Williams start at PG though.

Of course this leaves us with an even worse situation in terms of ball-handling, especially with Rubio out of the lineup. Martin wasn't a great playmaker, but he certainly has more guard skills than our other collection of wings.
I like what Flip did in the last game with Dieng, pulling him out of the paint and initiating the offense with him way up high and then running guys off flare cuts. It seemed to open up the middle, and while Dieng didn't make any flashy passes, he's pretty good about making the right decisions. This takes a ton of pressure off the point guard and allows the offense to flow through other players. I am a huge fan of bigs stepping out and getting touches at the elbow or up top to help facilitate the offense. I'd like to see more of this going forward.

Which is yet another reason I don't like Pek in the starting lineup... the middle get clogged up!

I really hope Shabazz gets the start at SG. Brewer is prefect coming off the bench.
Re: Martin fractured wrist out indefinately
Idk who the Spurs are starting but at this point I can see Flip adjusting his lineup based on matchups.
LST I think we both had the injuries accounted for but as others have said losing Rubio wasn't accounted for and hurts a lot.
I had concerns about Pek and Turiaf at C because Turiaf has been more fragile than Pek in his career but it is what it is put a PF or whatever at C for a couple days make true C's guard them outside. Tolliver and other guys did it for Nellie at GS with decent success I wasn't interested in bringing in some random tall dude at the expense of someone already here to cover for this problem.

I am worried that Turiaf is basically done. I was counting on him to be able to fill in when needed. Well, he is needed and he hasn't been available almost all season. PG will be fine once Ricky returns, but a big could be a problem all season long.
If Flip gets that roster exemption, what does he sign: a PG or a big?

Turiaf did the training with Bazz and Bennett so I doubt he is done althoigh I really didn't think it was a smart think for him to do and it could be part of his problems idk.
You go PG no question run Bazz or Hummel at C if you have to you wouldn't want to see anyone other than MW or Lavine at PG.
