Too bad though that Taylor threw KG under the bus after KG literally had to be convinced to allow a trade from the Wolves.

Kg being part of a teams front office? Not sure what I think of that. Kidd tried to power grab and got booted. Cant see a role I see kg will fit in in a front office position.

It would be just like the Wolves. Hire a guy for the front office that couldn't get into college.

That's weak Cool, you know 75% of those NBA players that did go to college are no smarter than KG. Just look at McCants and the college shenanigans.

As long as he understands basketball and basketball players, that's really what matters. It's not like he'd be put in to be a capologist.

You think that's all that goes into the job? And trust me, no one is looking to hire McCants for a front office job.

Suffice to say KG isn't the brightest bulb in the tanning bed. Can we agree on that?

I don't understand your question "that's all that goes into the job?" What job are you talking about? I don't think being involved in the front office means you're GM, it just means you're involves in the team's direction in some way. It could mean player or draftee scouting, it could mean something as little as giving his input in personnel decisions. Front office is a very vague description.

I'm trying to figure out what he would be useful for. Can't see him hitting the road and taking on the demands of a scouting position. He's not a sabermetrician. He's not going to negotiate contracts. He's not going to make decisions on draft night. And he's such a dick, players aren't going to be attracted to our market because of him. Just what role do you think he could be valuable in?

He could be valuable in player personnel decision making. Not by himself, but clearly he knows the nuances of the NBA and frontcourt positions. He also understands how valuable leadership is. He doesn't have to be a scout on the road, or know sabermetrics.

I think you're letting your personal dislike of KG make it so you can't possibly see that he obviously is intelligent when it comes to the game of basketball. There's lots of NBA players with the upside of KG that didn't become nearly the player he did. He understands how to play, and I'd argue that that probably gives him good insight as to what it might take to differentiate an athlete with potential that makes it and one with potential that doesn't.

I could see him helping in an on-court coaching role. But making decisions on personnel, no way.

Do you like Waiters that much?

Embiid has the potential to be much better than Pekovic, but I'm not going to overlook the huge question marks regarding him and his injuries. Pek gets banged up, but you can usually pencil him in for 60 games of 20/10-ish basketball, and that's All-Star level production. I could certainly live with this part of the trade, though. It's the other parts that I'm not a fan of.

I'll take Waiters over Young, and I say that as a guy who really likes Young's game. Waiters is younger (22 to 26) and has the ability to attack off the dribble on a consistent basis. He's on an upward trend, in my opinion, scoring just over 19 PPG on 46% from the field (38% from three), 3.7 APG (2.1 TOs) and 1.0 SPG in 22 games after the All-Star break. I know a lot of people don't like Waiters as much as I do, but I see the guy's talent. I'd hold on to him if Flip gets him involved in the trade.

Keep in mind that I have also said on this board that I believe Philly would do a Bennett + Barea for Young trade. They're stockpiling assets right now. Young is essentially on a one year deal for them since he has a player option for 2015 and they were high on Bennett last summer (reports said they were planning to take Bennett/Oladipo/Noel with the pick they acquired from the Pelicans in the Holiday trade). Obviously, Bennett and Oladipo never made it to them, but I'd wager they're still interested in Bennett.

The Sixers come away with a perfect fit next to Noel in Pekovic, Waiters, Bennett and two 1st round picks for Embiid, Young and Richardson? No way, Jose. We'd be getting fleeced.

I'm not as big of a fan as Pek or Waiters as you are, so that's part of the disagreement, but this trade to me gives us a potential Big 4 in 3 to 4 years. Financially it's a hell of a lot better. Waiters is going to get paid 10 mil+ soon with the current market! Pek is already making 12, and Bennett's rookie contract is considerably big. JRich is gone in a year, Young could probably be had for around 10 and Embiid will be making around 5 a year for the next 4 years. Even If we can't get a big name free agent, we can take on bad contracts with assists to add to our core of Rubio LaVine Wiggins Embiid. This trade also leaves us in better condition for tanking, which to me makes the most sense for a quick rebuild,
You can probably take the 1sts out.
The final trade could look something like this

Substitute Wiggins and Lucas for Kyrie
