Who blinks first?
Re: Who blinks first?
horatio81, agreed. I'm tired of that crap too. It's time for Minnesota to prevail.
lip, CHI is gauging interest in Wade now too. I think landing him would make them even more likely to ramp up an offer for Love.

I know with a high degree of confidence that the Bulls have offered Gibson, Butler and a future first for Love. No doubt in my mind that the Cavs will ultimately offer Wiggins as part of a package for Love unless for some unknown reason LeBron has told the Cavs organization he doesn't want Love on the team.
Lip, do you have any information on whether McDermott has been offered? It's interesting to me that he, like Wiggins, has not signed his contract. Without McDermott, and maybe Mirotic too, I'm not interested.

By the way, for those who have dismissed the idea that LBJ can win right away without Kevin Love, take a look at the NBA championship futures odds in Vegas...the Cavs are co-favorites with the defending champion Spurs at 4-1. I understand the public isn't always right, but this line has been up for 4 hours, and it hasn't moved. The so-called "wise guys" are generally much of the early money, which allows the books to get to a good line before the public starts betting heavily, and the wise guys do this for a living...they can't afford to be wrong.

LeBron just lost to the Spurs with Wade and Bosh at his side. He's supposedly going to beat them (or another elite Western Conf. team) with Irving and Waiters? Listen to how ridiculous that sounds.
They have those odds because they're going to be the Eastern favorite, especially if Melo returns to NY and Stephenson leaves IND. That's it. Not because this young Cavs team + LeBron is a dynamic team from year one.

Chris Broussard @Chris_Broussard
Source: Cavs have told Wiggins he's not being traded. TWolves want Wiggins. Cavs will try 2 do it w/out losing Wiggins. Must find 3rd team

BTW, I really like the way this poll is going (even though I'm still thinking "no deal"). If the board is right again, the Wolves will have unloaded a disgruntled bad locker room guy, and picked up a potential superstar (plus other young pieces).
Nationally, people expect us to do the wrong/stupid/weak thing. Not sure why there's any confusion on that point. An informal poll of an exceedingly small and biased subset of people doesn't alter or in any way determine the league-wide perception of this team as an incompetent laughing stock. That will only change when we demonstrate our ability to play even semi-hard ball.
Re: Who blinks first?
This is a story as old as (NBA) time. Teams always always always tell their precious assets that they are not involved in trade discussions. ALWAYS. That way there are no hard feelings if deals fall through. Non-story.

The day that Bill Simmons, Chris Broussard, and Skip Bayless are all out of sports journalism is one I seriously look forward to.

I'd like to help Simmons get out of it
