We made that mistake this year when we dealt away Burke. Our second unit needs a PG. JJ is a scoring guard. Smart, especially, is built enough to play some minutes next to Ricky and he is a very good defender. At the end of the day, I would rather be in a situation like the Clippers were with Bledsoe than not take and keep the best player available because of fit again. Backup PG is a weakness for this team right now so I don't think we can afford to pass up a guy. I also like Gordon out of Arizona if he comes out because I could see him having a Faried like impact off the bench as an energy guy which I think would fit well with the team. We definitely need to draft an athlete this year because this team just shows how little athleticism it has on a nightly basis. I'm also for taking a SF if they are considered to be a two-way player. I think Corey is best suited as an energy guy off the bench guarding 2's and Bud is a bench 3 who can give you some secondary scoring on the second unit. I think the only position we are truly set at is Center as we are 3 deep there all with defined roles (starter, bench, prospect).
The Spurs don't worry about getting athletes, they worry about getting goo basketball players...just saying.

Does anyone REALLY think Flip and the wolves will make the right choice in this draft?
Let's face it, this offseason might be the biggest nightmare from a PR perceptive in their history.
Wolves were suppose to be a playoff team. It's looking more and more like they won't make it. The talk of Love leaving will be the major media trade rumor. Like him or hate him, Adelman has been the best coach this team has ever had, and most likely is done after this season. There are HUUUGGE decisions coming up,
What to do with Love
Who is the next coach?
Not blowing ANOTHER draft
With this team having little cap space and very little trade assets, do you feel comfortable with Flip solving these problems? We might have our worst GM yet people

Highly doubt Flip could fuck up this team's future worse than Kahn did.

draft thread guys not a flip thread.
I think the wolves need to draft a SG and get it right. Its too early for me to have a solid opinion on these guys but here's my 2 cents as of today.
-Gary Harris really looked bad sunday and shot like 2-18 or something. plus he's undersized.
-Rodney Hood has looked good but gives me flashbacks of Wes Johnson. plus he plays second fiddle to a freshman
-P.J. hairiston is interesting and has really been tearing up the d league.
Tonight I look forward to watching Wayne Selden of Kansas via espn and then catching the wolves game on league pass
edit- obviously Wiggins would be ideal if we finally somehow won the lottery

Harris has boosted his per game averages this year. 18 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG and 2 SPG. Shooting % aren't where you'd want them this year, but he's had a really rough stretch the last week and a half or so that have helped in that drop. Not sure why, but he just has. He knows it too and made a comment the other day post-game saying "I just sucked today." I wouldn't be too scared about the shooting slashes, though. Freshman year he shot 46% from the field and 41% from 3.
He's a two-way player with great intangibles and a good head on his shoulders. Contributes in many ways on the floor. Oh, and he's only 19 years old.

I'm trying to like Gary Harris but every time I watch him I see a non ball dominant version of randy foye. It seems like his lack of size really affects his shot

Tyler Ennis likely won't fall to us, but he will probably shoot up the draft boards pushing someone down to us if we do actually keep our pick.

Im curious about Hood, Ive only seen spurts of his play but he looks athletic and I like his 3pt percentages. The two things this team needs.

Catch and shoot ability >>>
Seems comfortable using either hand around the basket. Can take contact well.
Fast, but not really that explosive. Long. Doesn't have a good handle, though. I share the curiosity. I need to see more of him to know if I like him for us.
