He is. We really need either Pek or Turiaf against the Griz. It's a tough matchup for Gorgui.

I think Deing will be pretty good in 2 years, but people wanting to give him the keys as our starting C is too premature. He's gotta learn that he doesn't have to try to block every shot first of all

Prediction on Adelman's postgame press confrence:

"We really missed JJ out there, he really adds a dimension that this team can afford to lose"

Ricky is probably exhausted from the extended minutes he has been getting but damn he is being an inefficient shooter right now

Are people gonna change their Shabazz vs. McCollum draft grades if Dieng keeps progressing? Right now, looking forward if I could have only McCollum or Dieng I would take Dieng no question! Not saying the kid has arrived, but he certainly has raised my expectations for what his ceiling could be!

I don't know if you watched the game tonight SP, but Dieng IMO got worked tonight, I think this is one of the games where the stats do not tell the whole story on how he played. I like Dieng a lot though. To comment on trading pek, I do agree with Alex that we might need to hold off trading Pek, but he is the only trade piece we have, and if we have the same team next year at best we are a 7th seed, I love Pek but we might need to trade him to help our bench out, this is not a knock against Pek it is a Knock against the front office (mostly Kahn) for having no trade pieces on this roster

Yeah, mine too. Kekgeek is right that Gorgui got pushed around a little tonight, but Gasol is a tough match up for anyone. And he is so active that he still ended up with 11 and 17, along with a cute bounce pass assist to Love.

I thought Alexey showed some promise at PG tonight too. He had a little JJ disease in him and shot too much, but 5 assists to 1 turnover is what we want from our PG. And he was a plus nine. Ideally JJ misses a few more games and Adelman has to play Shved. The Alexey Shved we saw in the Olympics would be a nice fit backing up Ricky. It would be good if we didn't have to focus on backup PG in the offseason.

I'm not suggesting he bettered Gasol, who's probably among the two or three best centers in the league right now. On the other hand he sure put in some good work in spite of the weight disadvantage inside and the significant experience gap! My thoughts were more in line that I saw him as a back up 5 and he's showing the possibility that he could develop into a very good one in time. If he continues to progress and Shabazz falls flat on his face it's very possible that we'll see the McCollum trade as a grand theft in our favor in the near future!!

As for PekI agree completely! I'm not one who's on the trade Pek bandwagon, yet I understand he's our only real trade chip right now short of blowing it up again.
