He was also +29 for game and now +47 in three games and in 7 G League games he averaged a +11.7 per game which is impressive. He's shot well in summer league so far, which has been his biggest question mark-shooting over 40% now from three. He shot 38% from threes in his one year of college. He's still 20. Someone on another Wolves board brought up his name as someone to sign and I agree. I'd at least give him a two way (the one Ryan didn't accept) so that we have his rights. I know he's short, but he's as tall as JMAC at 6 foot, but has a two inch longer wingspan than JMAC and has a plus 40 vertical, plus he has catquick reflexes and racks up steals (2.2 in college and 1.7 in G League play) and could be a young Pat Bev in the way he is disruptive on defense, but a better passer. We need to develop a young point guard and he was rated at one time the top point guard in his class and was a top ten high school player. I'd throw the minimum at him or at least offer a two way deal. Nets fans are hoping they sign him to at least a two way deal, so I kind of hope we beat them to the punch.
I would definitely have Chandler on my list of candidates for that third 2-way contract. I’d also have our own Brandon Williams on that list. And as Monster suggested, other candidates will probably shake out over the course of summer league.

In 3 summer league games Kennedy Chandler has now made 1 three pointer in 5 attempts. He is shooting well from the FT line which is a real positive since he shot like 50% on FTs as a pro last year. Like Lip said he is on the list but I don’t really see the rush to go get him.

I might’ve missed something… I thought the Wolves extended a qualifying offer to Matt Ryan for that 3rd two-way spot. Did he turn that offer down or is it still pending? If it’s still pending, can the Wolves rescind the offer and give that two-way spot to someone else?

Yes, Ryan's 2-way QO is still pending. Ryan is probably waiting to see if he might get an offer from another team.

But regardless of whether Ryan takes the QO or not, a team can drop a 2-way player at any time in order to sign someone else to a 2-way contract. The Wolves did this a couple of times last offseason, dropping Law and that pudgy P kid who really didn't seem interested in playing basketball...

My takeaway is get that Video Coordinnator to work with Josh Minott and the younger guys to improve their shooting. I don't think the Wolves have a shooting coach now and given their need to consistently develop players in the late first or second round, we should have a fulltime shooting coach and invest in more developmental coaching for them.

I’ve gotten the sense I’ve the years that there are very few actual good shooting coaches that basically produce multiple players who show or build improvements on their shot. I thought it was interesting how DeJonte Murry have a shout out to Chip Engelland during the Wolves Hawks game the other day. Honestly that was a heck of an interview overall.

I'm glad the spot remains open for now. OKC and some other teams will have to make some difficult roster cuts or moves and there may be some attractive names available later. OKC has 21 players rostered and I'm thinking OKC might be releasing/trading two of the following guards: Tre Mann, Isaiah Joe and TyTy Washington. There will likely also be some interesting names among the two-way players including our own Luka Garza. Preseason is usually a much better indicator of breakout talent than summer league, so waiting is probably best for now.
