I get the Denver connection to Bones, but having watched him play, there is no way he would get playing time on the best team in the West.
I tend to agree with Carlos that we're probably just going to roll with what we have. If there is a cheap way to add a shooter or PG depth, I'm all for it, but I wouldn't be willing to give up a 2nd rounder for Bones.
Same. If Bones gets cut, I'd sign him for depth and he can have the open roster spot. The same would be true for any buyout guy that could be depth for us. But our top rotation guys have earned the right to keep doing what they are doing. Therefore any additions (IMO) should be added depth for just in case someone goes down vs. upsetting the current rotations.
We have good depth on this team. But let's face it, several guys at the bottom of the roster could easily be upgraded. I'm talking about you Wendell Moore Jr., Josh Minott and possibly Shake who hasn't done much with us to this point.
Regarding Miller, I'm still willing to hold on him based solely on his age. He just turned 20 at the end of November. Looking at the G League stats I see he's 18th in PPG and 24th in Rebounds. So...a 19/20 year old that's a top 25 player down there is certainly worth holding IMO.
Tyrese Martin is now 37th in PPG. But I've mentioned before, while he was drafted in 2022 with WMJ and Minott, he's already 25 years old, so that sort of lessens his value IMO as this is probably as good as he'll ever get.

Bones is a PG and a much better ball-handler than Shake. When you use the trade fandango trade machine Bones is listed as a secondary ball-handler while Shake is listed as a “stationary shooter.” If we’re looking for a backup PG, Bones can fill that role while MIlton absolutely cannot. Meanwhile, Bones and Shake are about equal as three-point shooters. So Bones would fill a need that Milton can’t fill (backup PG) without any drop-off in three-point ability. Bones is also younger than Shake and likely has untapped upside. I don’t love Bones - not by any stretch. But I think he could potentially help us this season and that would be worth a second-round pick.
I’d prefer, however, to trade Milton and Moore for Delon Wright. That would be a smart move in my view.

I mentioned it in the game thread, but I'll also post here. I think Alec Burks would be a nice #9 to round out our playoff rotation. Good shooter and he should be able to help at the 1, although I'm not sure how much ball handling responsibilities he's had recently.

If you are worried about salary past this season then you absolutely do not trade anything for Bones Hyland. His salary next season is 4.1 million. He is very inefficient and while I would be happy to sign him if he got bought out I don’t see a reason to trade anything for him. Now if the Wolves could move him for Moore then that would help with the salary aspect next season. If we want an inefficient playmaking guard there is probably one or 10 of them in the G-league.
I’ll add here that Shake (while it’s mostly been in garbage time) has seemed to find himself a little as a scorer. He has a decent track record of being a worthwhile guard. He might still help this team yet this year but the good news is that they can move on from him after this season with no guaranteed salary for next season unlike Bones. If you compare his career with Bones the only thing that sticks out is Bones volume of 3’s. That’s both good and bad as Bones seems like a guy that will shoot you in or out of a game. Shake has struggled this year but he also hasn’t just fired up a ton of shots when he shouldn’t be. Bones might still have a worthwhile NBA career ahead but I’s rather acquire him for nothing and pay him basically nothing to find out.

Bones’ salary doesn’t really matter. This team will be over the 2nd apron if they keep KAT, Rudy, Ant, Naz and Jaden regardless of whether the Wolves add Bones’ salary to the roster or not. Once we’re over the 2nd apron it doesn’t matter by how much.
Shake and Bones are very different players. Bones is a PG who can handle the ball. Shake is a SG who has limited ball-handling ability and can’t be expected to run the offense. I see two things this team could use. One is a solid backup PG. Another is reliable three-point marksman off the bench. Right now, Naz is the only offensive firepower we have coming off the bench and this team could really use another offensive shot-maker coming off the bench.

Ok so I assume you will have zero posts about concerns about wolves salary going forward. That should free up some time for you!
Lip how many games have you watched Bones play?

Another consideration is the Wolves window to a championship (isn’t that weird to say?!?).
Two years ago we would have said that ANT and Jaden’s championship window was a few years away when they enter their prime. But TC decided to create a championship window now - call it the Conley/Gobert window. But it is a relatively short window. So it sure seems like any activity at the trade deadline will only be done to meet the needs of this small window, not future windows. So, although I brought up Bones, it seems very unlikely.
It seems like the Wolves best course of action is to preserve their roster spot and space under the luxury tax to be a buyer in the buyout market where the prospects of finding someone who could be helpful THIS season are promising.
But I can’t help note that pursuing Delon Wright as detailed earlier would add some help where most needed (backup PG), and preserve both the roster spot and luxury tax space for the buyout market. Heck, it might even be worth an overpay by including a second rounder for Wright.
Go all in for this year!

What if the Wolves were to look into adding Terry Rozier? He has a pretty large contract so would need to move anderson plus Milton and then throw in moore and minott. Add in a couple second rounders or what we can trade for him. Maybe this is way too little to get him so maybe we swap in Leonard Miller if need be. Anyway Charlotte would do something like this? Also would be nice to have a younger guy who can slot in at pg as Bite Bite only is getting up there.

There is a lot of synergy that can be found with a trade based on KAT for Dejounte Murray.
Just sayin'...

This is a scenario I've been playing around with in my head for a while now.
Minnesota Receives: Dejounte Murray, Onyeka Okongwu, Saddiq Bey and 1st RP (2024 via SAC, so likely in the 20's).
Atlanta Receives: Karl Anthony Towns and Wendell Moore Jr
Murray / Conley / McLaughlin
Edwards / NAW / Milton
McDaniels / Brown Jr/ Bey
Reid / Anderson / Minott
Gobert / Okongwu / Leonard
Murray and Okongwu have both signed long term deals kicking in next season, however it would still shed 12 mil off the cap next season with KAT's supermax kicking in. I'm not sure if Atlanta would do this agree to this, but they need to do something and a Trae and KAT would make a pretty deadly duo offensively. Plus there is rumor going around that the Lakers are in discussions for a DLO and pick swap for Murray, if that is the case then Murrays trade value must not be that high.
Long term it would make sense for the Wolves, but in the short term with current success of this team why would TC want to shake it up? A deal along these lines could be made in the off season provided Murrays not traded before the deadline.
