No question about it, Cool. The Clippers are as hot as any team in the league. I think they have won 8 out of 9, and I believe I heard they were 23-6 since bringing in Harden...dammit. The early line has the Wolves slightly favored, but we know this is going to be a tough one to win. I think we will have problems matching up with their perimeter shooters, but I also think KAT will be a difficult matchup for whoever gets the assignment...either George or Kawhi will be giving up 4 inches and a lot of weight. Should be an interesting game.

Not sure where to find bank shots. I can’t remember if it was Zach Lowe or Dane Moore saying Ant percentage on those shots are really good however

Overall he's around a 39% shooter from 10 feet out to the 3 point arc. I suspect he's somewhere in the 33-40% range on the mid-range bank shot. I notice that he sometimes attempts to bank it from too far out. We've all played H-O-R-S-E and tried the long bank shot before. It's tough. But there is a certain distance when at a 45-degree angle from the basket that a shot doctor would know better than me where using the backboard begins to be more advantageous than not. May be from around 15 feet and in?

Anywho, Ant's emerging mid-range game is sometimes a bit forced, but I do think it could pay dividends in the long run when that's often the only shot available against a playoff-caliber defense. He's gotta feel confident with it and all these regular season reps will help.

During my coaching days I had two schools of thought. Initially I used to teach by using shooting pool as an example. If you had the choice of a straight in shot or a bank-shot, what would you do? Most people would say the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line. But in later years I realized that using the glass would slow the ball down, effectively creating a softer shot. I think Q is right in that it's more effective from a relatively shorter distance. Today I'd say shoot it the way you do in practice.
