I was happy about rumors I heard Monday that the Wolves would have the late game Saturday. They were wrong. The news that Game 1 will be at 2:30 Saturday is not good. First of all, sober afternoon crowds are generally quieter than night crowds. But more importantly, Ant has not typically been very good in afternoon games. He's a slow starter in games generally, but sometimes he never shows up in afternoon games. At least games 2-4 are night games, but I like our chances less now in Game 1.

As for the suggestions that Finchie alter the starting lineup, I don't agree, I also think there is less than a 1% chance he will do it. Going with our optimal starting lineup was very successful, and it would not be wise to change things up now after 57 wins. If certain matchups don't seem to be working, Finchie can shake things up mid-game. But don't mess with the starting five.

That is probably smart. But be quick to see what works. If Naw can really lockdown Beal or Book then that is worth rolling with for more minutes. The other thing you could do is just roll with KAT on Durant and just live with the likely defecit. He's probably going to score 30 really regardless. Maybe just live with him getting 40 if you can mostly limit the other 3 (Beal, Allen, Book). No other team can do what Phoenix does which is why I was always fearful they can over power our defense and size. They have too much elite quickness and shooting and midrange killers. I don't know if we really have any answers. So I'm picking Phoenix. Wolves will really have to step up huge to win.

But there are some rays of hope too. Suns shot very hot against the Wolves. Sometimes guys just get hot or cold. That can change. I also think we haven't played anywhere near our best either. C-F games. So Suns shoot a bit more normal and the Wolves up their game, we got a series.

NAW might be my favorite player on the team, WF. Even if he starts out on the bench, I expect him to see the court a lot in this series. I see his perimeter defense and 3-point shooting as key factors in our chance of advancing.

Agreed, he is a huge key to limiting those other guys. I just think he is so great watching him really lockdown on the best guys like SGA. I love Conley too but Naw is a different kind of beast. SO yeah I do think he has to get more minutes as well. Naw might be our best defender. That might be a hot take for sure considering we also have Rudy (DPOY) Ant, Jaden, Slo-mo at times, etc.

Just curious...where are you located where a 3:30 start time doesn't work?
