Yeah, I've always been a little mixed on Randle as a basketball player...more favorable than unfavorable though. But I've always viewed his character as being far above the NBA norm. A true family man, it seems. Married his college sweetheart, and adores his kids. The jury is out as to how he will fit with our team, but I think the Randles will fit in the community just fine.

Dane Moore was engaged in some wishful thinking when it comes to Randle's fit. He looked at a bunch of prior 2nd/3rd tier all-star types that moved teams with various outcomes - some good, some bad. But the guy he honed in on was Aaron Gordon and what a brilliant fit he ended up being in Denver despite some initial questioning of the acquisition.
The difference of course is that Gordon was never a high-usage scorer and instead went from a very solid jack-of-all trades forward in Orlando to an even better jack-of-all trades forward in Denver largely because he played with a generational talent in Nikola Jokic.
Finch now has two scorers in his starting lineup that don't thrive as pick and roll passers/ball handlers (think the opposite of Irving and Doncic in Dallas) and instead prefer to either isolate or use screens mostly to get their own shot. I'm really not sure how our offense looks any more aesthetically pleasing or efficient than it was last year. If we improve on offense, it's going to come from the bench.

I'll be curious to see if Randle knows how to set a screen. It took like 8 years for Towns to be decent at it. Randle is more like Aaron Gordon than Towns is but yeah Idk about the parallels there other than Connelly acquiring both of them and they are PFs that can handle the ball and pass. We have seen Finch really give the reins to Anderson who is really a guy that can play as a PG and Randle isn't that but has some playmaking chops. Apparently there are some numbers on him being a pretty good creator of 3 point shots for teammates.
I've watched a few videos of Randle and he does seem like a really good dude who is really committed and passionate about the game. He came in the league at 250 lbs and 9.5% body fat. He seems like a guy that if he didn't work hard watched what he ate eventually could have had some issues with weight. He said in one video when he was young he ate whatever he wanted but certainly not now. He is still listed at 250 but he looks to be in excellent shape I can't imagine him cutting weight whatsoever. I actually was a little surprised watching various videos of him working out chilling etc how slim looking he was.
