FNG, keep in mind we were down 0-1 and lost homecourt advantage, so it was a MUST win. And with Ant's status uncertain for a period of time and us fans rightfully on edge about our tendency to underperform and melt down, it's hard to be joyful in the moment of game like that.

Plus we didn't see any Ant explosions or highlight reel type stuff, so despite having a comfortable lead most of the night it was kind of a slog.

I think we're also weighed down by the expectation to win with Steph out. So any sign of self-inflicted harm (which the Wolves are really good at) and potential big run by the Warriors leads to a sense of dread. That's just the way it is.
Fair comments, Q. I'm not too worried about Ant though...he looked healthy to me in the second half. As for the Warriors, I saw a desperate team in Game 1 that overachieved, but that came to realize in Game 2 that they are not good enough without Steph. Two great facilitators and good coaching, but overall not that good. Draymond's behavior last night shows me that he knows it. We're 5 1/2 point favorites tomorrow night and I expect we will cover that spread. Let's see if there's a little more joy in the GDT tomorrow.
You could participate in the game thread and perhaps bring some of that joy you are seeking!

I know a lot of folks watch things on delay these days due to other commitments or because they hate all the normal commercial breaks, challenges, stupid TNT halftime show, etc. It makes being in the game thread impractical, but I'm almost shocked how few of us participate given it's the playoffs. We are a niche site though and hard to find for any newbies!

I almost only watch TV on DVR. Obviously. But things might be changing for me. I'm about to order one of those black box things but I'm told that you can only watch sports live on it.

Oh oh. I'm going to need a new gimmick.

I really think this series comes down to game 3. As we all know the Wolves are capable of a wide range of performances. A win and our outlook is sky high for the rest of the series. A loss and we definitely have a problem. I will be very anxious until the game is put away

As far as how we feel about potentially winning against a Curry-less Warrior team, staying healthy is part of who you are as a team. When you have guys in their mid 30's you are always running a higher risk of missing time. What we can control is getting to 4 wins before GSW does. And I sincerely won't feel less satisfied if Curry misses the rest of the series, Draymond technicals his way out of a game, and Jimmy has to sit for general soreness. When Sam Cassell missed time in our first conference final series, the Lakers took advantage and didn't feel bad about it. And no one outside of our fan circle remembers it. You are who you are.

I think I'm home alone watching the game live Saturday, so I'll probably be on the GDT. I wasn't feeling joyful last night, but maybe I'll be tomorrow!

Yeah, I wasn't feeling joyful last night, either. I believe it was a hangover from the game one loss...

Kind of odd that two of the most upbeat guys on the board weren't feeling it last night. I think my enthusiasm started waning in Game 1 when Pat Spencer took that running hook shot over Rudy. It was then that I realized this wasn't any ordinary playoff series...we're losing to a team that has a college lacrosse player firing hook shots? So it was no surprise when we won so easily last night. I know some were concerned when the Warriors got it to single digits in the second half, but I wasn't...just didn't see enough scoring punch on the Warriors to warrant concern. I suspect tomorrow's game might be closer, so I'll hopefully be fired up again. If not, I know I will be for the next round!

The Wolves looked like they were gonna really blow up the Warriors and then the Warriors did some stuff and yes the Wolves let them in. Here is the reality that we all know. The Wolves haven't hit on all cylinders in this playoffs yet except what that one game against the Lakers kinda. If the Wolves can get Edwards playing well and the perimeter guys back to being guys that make shots...then they can make a real run. The thing is they have already won some games without that happening. Donte has a real chance to start goijg off scoring in the teens or more night in night out. If that happens and other guys don't fall off much this could be a very good team.

I am concerns a bit about Ant. He has been down on the court plenty and he isn't a guy that doesn't want to play or seems to make up drama. He is banged up more than just the wear and tear of the season. Hopefully he can heal up a decent amount and get back on track.

I'm not expecting this team to be a contender but I'm starting to look at that as a possibility. If so we need Ant Healthy we need other guys to step up. Some other teams I was worried about facing in a future series there is not a guarantee that they will be there. I see a possible opportunity for the Wolves. I'm not saying it's there for the taking or they are up for it or I'm expecting it but...its on my mind a bit.

Also I get wanting to beat the best with their best so it's totally cool to be a little down by that. I'd be happy to blow up Draymond and Butler. I'm so sick of seeing Draymond flopping and whacky the shit out of people for no reason. I actually like Curry so I don't like to see him injured. I just want to win baby and hopefully move onto the next series.

As much as I love watching Steph Curry play, I like advancing to the conference finals better, so I was on balance not unhappy with the hamstring injury. And I have been predicting an easy Wolves series victory ever since the injury happened. But a couple things have me a little worried again. I have to admit the Warriors defense has been much better than I expected coming in...they were good enough to turn Stephless game 3 into a close game. But even more important is the possibility that Steph could possibly return for Game 5. He went through a moderately hard workout before Saturday's game, and did not appear to be limping when they showed him on the sidelines. How much better might he feel 4 days later with the advantage of having around the clock excellent medical care? I have been expecting a Sunday return for Steph at the earliest, but the latest reports make Wednesday at least a slight possibility.

Obviously that makes tonight's game even more critical. If we can go up 3-1, I see little chance of the Warriors winning three games in a row...even if Steph plays in all 3. A Wednesday return would be pushing it according to most medical reports I have seen, and it is doubtful he would be close to 100% at either end of the court. But this is Steph. He is still going to make seemingly impossible shots, and the gravity he provides makes all of his teammates better. All of a sudden Podziemski, Hield, Moody and Post become 3-point threats to worry about, because Steph's presence gives them more open looks. But still, winning 3 in a row with Steph not at 100% is a tall order. Again, that's why a win tonight is so vital.

The Warriors players are reading the same articles I am, and I think just the possibility of a Wednesday return has to be a big lift for them. They are likely to play harder tonight, because they have a lot more hope than they might have had after Game 2. I think we are going to have to play better tonight to win and go up 3-1. Hopefully Finchy and the coaching staff spent a lot of video time with our primary ballhandlers yesterday instructing them what to do with the pressure half court defense the Warriors bring so well. It's an effective but also risky defensive strategy...risky because it can lead to easy buckets if handled properly. We have seen Ant develop this year in ways I didn't think he was ready for, and if he (or Randle) can make the correct read and pass when the inevitable pressure comes, we will win this game.

Let's go Wolves!

What are the odds that Butler doesn't play tonight? He gave up on game 4, did he already turn on GSW?
