Seems totally fair for Naz.

I'm glad he's staying but I get the feeling he is being paid off to be happy coming off the bench whereas I might rather trade Randle into a backup big and point guard.
We're running into the same issue: who wants Randle THAT badly?

It would be like Utah trying to gauge John Collins' market. You don't think he sucks, but you don't wanna pay him what he wants to not be one of your main guys all while wanting to play younger guys behind him.

Yup. The player option on the final year was probably a concession for NAZ trying to get even more money.

Just want to say it was a privilege to watch NAW play basketball here. I will be rooting for him wherever he goes.

I don't think it'll be some established no doubt star, but this is the summer where TC gotta replenish. Off to a solid start with Beringer but he has to find another NAW.
I think any team would miss NAW. He's been so good for us defensively, and offensively, he fits in really well. I've loved him since we got him, and it'll be hard to see him go.

Given the money, I suspect that we're hoping that the combo of Clark and TSJ will collectively be the NAW replacement. It's obviously not the same, but both are definitely promising players.

I actually think the Shannon/Clark combo in particular is an upgrade to NAW. And I really like NAW.

The reality is that our bench has been pretty bad in the playoffs, with NAW perhaps being the least bad of the bunch, but still not great. Time for some new blood.

Denver did it first with Brown and than with KCP the next year hoping Braun could step into his place. Even though Denver isn't quite as good, he has stepped in well and they were one game away from beating us last year and beating OKC this year in the semis.

Very good deal for Naz, but I have to agree with Kek that it seems like an overpay. I don't think I see any other non-starters on the first two pages of Drew's list.

Like most of us, I'm gonna miss NAW.

WildWolf2813 wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 8:04 pm I'm a bit conflicted. Glad he's back, but they're paying Naz and JMac as if they're our JDub and Chet and I have major reservations about that.

It's a)more than I woulda paid and b) money we weren't seeing from others. We saw 4/$87 or 4/$100 (which is the same thing as this).

I don't know what this does for Randle and it shouldn't affect how we felt about a long term deal with him anyway. Our roster feels very locked up, so our hopes and dreams are really coming down to Shannon justifying NAW's departure and DiVincenzo's eventual departure and more importantly, Dillingham being the Robin to Ant's Batman.
Huh? Chet and J Dub will get maxxed out and don't they have next year to play still which means All NBA and big raises coming.

I don't know about that, didn't Brooklyn use up a lot of it's cap space in those recent deals? Detroit maybe? I thought those were the only two teams with over 20 some million to sign. It's a fine deal, lets hope he continues to improve though and make his contract a deal for both.
