Dame Time in Minnesota. Keep in mind Marcus Spears was essentially Dame's mouthpiece when he kept trying to force his way to Miami. He's not throwing out MN as his favorite landing spot on ESPN just for the hell of it.
But why?

My prediction is Pat Bev
I had this thought yesterday. I personally would steer clear of bringing him on at this point. He didn't last in his moderately lucrative international team last season. He had that thing with the fans where he was throwing the balls at people...in his last NBA season. He is in the media saying stuff all the time. I'm not saying he is a terrible guy or anything but I'd prefer to not bring that on.
Finch made some comment recently about some vertan guys not actually being around for the right reasons. That was probbaly more about saying good things about Conley and I think Ingles but it was an interesting comment. I mean it's a super super competitive job I don't think there has to be some sort of awful shade thrown at guys trying to further their careers but I'm sure not everyone does that and is a total team player.

Best team with a shitty PG situation

I don’t know, Bloop. Your recent prediction track record does not bode well for Dame in Minnesota!

I feel like Finch doesn't see any difference between the 1 through 3 spots in his "offense" and thinks he has the players he wants. Hence the lack of signings. Finch seems to be bull headed on a lot of stuff.

Maybe because they are a repeat final four team and so the evidence points to his methods being successful and repeatable.

I think the lack of signing has more to do with lack of opportunity and likely only offering a vet min deal.
I do think in some aspects Finch does lack an aspect of flexibility and I think most would agree there is some legit downsides to that. One of his strength is he is willing to utilize ball handling and play making from a player despite whatever position they play.
I'm not too worried we haven't added anyone yet in FA. It's early and there will be worthwhile players some who might even get cut a couple months from now. Besides we haven't even gotten to Summer league where we want at least one guy signed ASAP because of what they did there.

I'm kinda joking about that but sometimes there is a player that seems like is acrually worthy of signing to a deal and some even prove to be worth it. Not every FA works out like you expect them too either.

I think the rub with Conley is that it was a bit of a wink-wink deal.
He'd sign on for two seasons... to stay in Minnesota.
It seems like Connelly puts A LOT of emphasis on taking care of his guys (see Conley) and (not pressuring both Reid and Randle into a few million less each).
The Wolves would be in better shape (financially) to have paid less for the two PFs and by trading Conley. Tim Connelly is betting on "good locker room vibes" though. I hope he's right... for multiple reasons.
Something is fundamentally wrong with the roster construction of a team where your two main point guards make $17M between them and your two main PFs make $60M. That is just effed up.
Now we can go into all the reasons how we arrived at this place, but to me it's not a sustainable path to continue having so much cap room invested in two defensively challenged PFs that really shouldn't be paired together much.
I'm going to give Tim Connelly some grace here given his track record, but I'm hopeful the right opportunity comes along between now and the trade deadline to make a move of some sort.
If it makes you feel better, when Julius is off the books Rob will be off his rookie deal and hopefully be worth Julius- type money.

I have a similar view, Q. So here’s a question. Do you think the Wolves would be a better team with Capela or Kornet and Tyus Jones instead of Randle and Mike Conley? I suspect we could have moved on from Randle via sign-and-trade and somehow ended up with a good defensive backup center. I’m fairly certain we could have landed Tyus if we had traded Conley.

If Gobert is healthy when is Capela playing in the playoffs?
