I think DDV was the most consistent effort and glue person we had last year. Lol well that's certainly true, but you brought it up first.
I like what Keegan would give this team because, one he's still young, two he would give the starting 5 a little more bulk, three he can guard the perimeter, and four him and Jaden would basically be interchangeable which I like a lot
Fwiw I'm not really that keen to trade for a PF and I think the matter has pretty much become a meme, but there are risk if they go into the season without an established PF
That said the FO needs to make some projection based decisions

An Achilles tear ain't nothing man. I love the guy, but holding a roster spot for a guy who probably won't play meaningful minutes this year is tough for a team with championship aspirations.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:38 pmI think DDV was the most consistent effort and glue person we had last year. Well they have not changed Jaden’s measurable since draft night so I don’t think they are following that ruleMonster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:24 pmFWIW a couple years ago the NBA said you had to put down the actual weight and height for players. Idk if they have stuck with that but since then it has seemed a little more accurate than it did for the like 30 years before that.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:22 pm And Jaden was listed at 200lbs as a freshman at Washington….so we can all stop listing heights and weights because they a lie. It’s all money and negotiation tactics.

I'm not sure he ever had official measurables before the draft. Lets say they haven't updated his height or weight. What benefit would that have for anyone?BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:42 pmWell they have not changed Jaden’s measurable since draft night so I don’t think they are following that ruleMonster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:24 pmFWIW a couple years ago the NBA said you had to put down the actual weight and height for players. It's not nothing but players are coming back from it fairly quickly and with much more ease. I'm a big Donte fan but I agree it's risky holding the spot for him. We also don't know if any team is valuing him at all in trades. Lets say they thought he was basically a negative (I think that's unlikely) then I wouldn't be paying to get rid of him. On the other hand what if he he still has quite a bit of value in trades? Maybe they would want to keep him till he is healthy either for themselves or in some sort of deal. How many teams next off-season will be able to pay him more than say 10 million?AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:42 pmAn Achilles tear ain't nothing man. No idea. But when I watch the games it is pretty obvious than Jaden is closer to 7 ft then he is to 6’9’’.Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:52 pmI'm not sure he ever had official measurables before the draft. I think we have to trade for a bonafide power forward who can play starter minutes. It's just too big of a hole on our roster. Just my opinion, but the team feels incomplete as it is.

I would say his value is probably at its lowest today as an asset. But if he is going full on court active and practicing towards the trade deadline he will only increase his value as an asset. If there’s a trade that could happen to bring us a PF starter they probably would have made it by now. I would bet we go into the season without anyone else added that will play significant to starter level minutes. I would also bet that they make some significant trade at or around the deadline based on how the Lamelo experiment begins. We have a really good offensive roster. And I don’t think we will be worse than top half of the league defensively with Rudy and Jaden. It would be great if we could sniff top 1/3rd. I don’t think that’s outside the realm of potential. Not every team has an allstar at every position. But if we start our best 5 regardless of position I think that we are very deep. TJ, Joan, Bones/Green/Clark let’s go! Trey Lyles as a 9th man at worst? If we are in desperate need of rebounding because Jaden repositioning to a PF type of defensive responsibility isn’t working then Trey may end up getting a lot of minutes. But he seems like a capable minutes provider at a good age range so I’m not worried about starting the year with a question mark.Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 8:56 pmIt's not nothing but players are coming back from it fairly quickly and with much more ease. We started last year with a question mark at PG/ball handler/creator type and tried to fill it with Ant. Everyone agrees it was a resounding mistake but at the silver lining stage it gave Ant a ton of experience from a different perspective. He seems like a guy that has made drastic jumps when he sees the game from different perspectives. The team decided it was more important to solve last years question then it was to not create a different one. They will now see how that new question affects the result. They can not just solve for everything with no more assests. And if we continue spending 2 assets to get 1 we will end up with a great starting 5 and the bones hylands of the league. Top 8 guys matter. Selling two of them for 1 leaves 6 and then we are the Nuggets and get our doors blown off in the playoffs.

That's my thinking too, but with a requirement that it has to be by the trade deadline. Not having someone come playoff time will be rough, but I wouldn't want them to jump on an overpay before the season either.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2026 12:53 pm I think we have to trade for a bonafide power forward who can play starter minutes. Umm... FYI: the Wolves must acquire an additional player before the season starts. I would say that qualifies as "an incomplete roster..."TheGrey08 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2026 1:29 pmThat's my thinking too, but with a requirement that it has to be by the trade deadline.
