Lots of interesting stories of this draft but the Broncos trading up and taking Paxton Lynch as their future at QB is pretty interesting.

I'll add that I didn't do much draft research so I wasn't very informed but it seemed like the only other really interesting name on the board when they took Treadwell was Myles Jack and he had that knee issue.

Yeah, I didn't do much pre-draft work either, but I really like the pick based on what I'm reading now. Pundits knock his 40 yard speed, but he's got the best 10-yard speed...and that's much more important with a QB like Teddy. Plus he's a terrific blocker and has good size.
Zimmer is excited about the pick, and he never gets excited about anything!

40 yard dash is so overrated it drive me crazy.

I agree that in today's NFL the 40 is overrated. When offenses were much more vertical, a good 40 time meant you could separate from D-backs (like Randy Moss used to) and that was important to teams that aired it out. But for every Randy Moss with a great 40 time, there's several Troy Williamsons. 40 time today ranks way behind hands, route running and size, and even 10 yard time. That's why we may have gotten the best WR in this draft.

The 40 times has been overrated for a long time. It's not that speed isn't important because it is but the data point of measuring speed of a guy running straight forward with no pads is something to go off of but sometimes it doesn't translate. In addition it's annoying how it's used by different people especially media and fans to fit an agenda on a player. You can name a player and his 40 time and how great of an athlete he is while dismissing a guy that's not that far off or right there. Im not saying its a worthless thing but it bugs me.
As for Moss he was a once in a lifetime talent the way he could just absolutely blow by people go up for balls and catch the ball so easily. I'm not sure we will ever see that combination of elite skills again. It's wonderful that the Vikings had the slew of big armed QBs he was able to play with during his time here.

I think Treadwell was the best pick we could make, but overall I think it was just an ok pick. We needed a true #1 WR coming into the draft and we still need one now. I think he's another solid #2 level guy like Diggs, but his lack of being a deep threat keeps him from being a true #1 guy. I think he's an upgrade over Wallace which is nice so I'd give the pick a B grade. He's gonna fill a hole and be a solid guy, but I don't see a future Dez Bryant/AJ Green/Amari Cooper level wideout. If we could trade up in the second round to pick up one of those Alabama DT's that dropped out of the first that'd be a great draft in my opinion.

I am blown away that those two Mississippi lineman went in the first round. Teams should hire a 15 year old girl who does nothing but monitors Twitter.
With the exception of #1/#2, every trade to move up was used to draft a player that would have been there.
As far as Treadwell, I wasn't aware he had a drop issue his senior year. He might not want to take a hit after that injury his junior year.

The guy Cleveland took as the first receiver in the draft has been compared to the former great Viking Troy Williamson!! Speed is pretty useless if you can't catch.
Regarding that pathetically slow 40 time I know one former Viking scrub receiver ran a 4.63, I hardly remember the guy, Chris Carter I believe was his name.

Looks like Mackensie Alexandrr could be a nice player. If Wayne's and Rhodes end up being the long term tandem on the outside Alexander could be a nice slot player replacing Captian down the road.
