Watched the replay today. Uffda. I started skipping ahead even before halfway through the 3rd quarter to see if it ever got better. Nope. All in all there are a ton of questions marks for the future of this team that reared their ugly head yesterday,

Will KAT ever be able to contain his emotions? Can he be consistent in big moments? How has he not learned how to set a screen yet???? I honestly can't stand KAT anymore, and now firmly believe KAT needs to be the 3rd option on a championship team, not even a 2nd. At the risk of rehashing the Jimmy debacle, Jimmy was right about KAT being weak and soft. Good lord, he should be the greatest offensive big man of all time with his talent, but he never will be. Shame.

Why did 3 teams ship DLO away so quickly, are we seeing why? Are the Wolves next? DLo is obviously very talented and it's great he can shoot and can get his shot whenever, but the lack of effort was horrible last night. I don't know about all the specific instances that Duke mentioned, but I did think it was a strange argument from Cam about Dlo being calm. He seemed more lethargic than anything and in the clouds. At the end of the day, a person high as a kite can be "calm" but probably will be ineffective in the NBA playoffs. Can't the Wolves have Grizz player energy and emotion? Not KAT, not DLO, but that sweet competitive middle

Is Ant or Finch this dumb? I love Ants attitude and his swagger. What keeps me from falling in love with him like many on this board, is the fact Ant can't seem to figure out he should be driving to the basketball EVERY TIME!!!! With the exception of a wide open 3. Does Finch not tell him this? Does he not show him the film?!? Wtf is going on here. Morant does it, Westbrook did it in his prime to great effect. When Ants shot is falling he is special to watch. When it isn't, he is basically a bench player on a playoff team

Anyway, gonna still enjoy the playoffs and hopefully we get our shit together, but the future still has a ton of major question marks for me. And not promising ones

I watched the replay this morning. Memphis D was really good but the Wolves also settled and didn't move around enough on offense. Again they had too many turnovers. They simply struggled to score. It may have made sense to put in Nowell for more minutes but part of the problem was guys were trying trying to get a bucket on their own and Nowell did some of that too. Vanderbilt who is not a threat to score (and somewhat like Adams) only played 9 minutes.

Naz had a nice impact when he was in there. It wasn't perfect but he made some plays and helped keep the team afloat at times. I thought Beasley played another solid game and Prince did his thing. McDaniels only hit one shot but had some spectacular blocks. McLaughlin played solid. Memphis bench still outplayed the Wolves bench but it felt like it was the Wolves starters that didn't get it done. Towns and Russell combining for 26 points in a playoff game isn't gonna be good enough to win most games especially without someone else going off.

It was a disappointing loss but if you told me the Wolves would be 1-1 after 2 games I would be pretty happy. Last night was one game and NBA playoff series can go like this we have seen it before. Let's see what the Wolves have in game 3 at home. My guess is that will be a good game and like I saw Cam said it could certainly be the turning point of the series. I'm looking forward to it

Ant is so young yet. The mental part of the game will take time to catch up with his physical skills. Towns on the other hand.

Great rant!

On Ant, his handle isn't quite as tight as Morant or Westbrook's. He obviously has the first step and athleticism, but he is still a bit loose with the handle. Also, we've seen in Westbrook how constant attacking doesn't age well over time. Ant ultimately needs to be a 3-level scorer. If anything, the area he needs to work on most is the mid-range stuff - pull-ups, floaters, turnaround J's on post-ups, etc.

I still feel like we're playing with house money. It was a tough loss after the high of winning that opening game. The Wolves were humbled by the better team.

I was actually very calm while writing this haha. I think the tension on this board has increased so things appear as rants. I just dont really understand this teams top players and if this is all just a mirage of success.

Pork, how many times have we said something similar about Wolves players in the past? I hope you are right, but hope is a dangerous thing around these parts

It's no mirage. The 46 wins was real. Ant's improvement over last year was real. The big win at home against the Clippers was real. The win at Memphis was real.

We have flawed players and we may not win another game in this series. But don't let that suck the enjoyment out of this season. It's been a great step forward. The front office has some arrows in its quiver it can use to improve the team next year. And that doesn't even include the potential for more improvement from the likes of Ant and McDaniels.

Didnt the guy who put this team together get fired though? Idk if the current one can keep it going, we'll see. Unless Ant becomes our number 1 consistently next year I dont know how long the success lasts. I will enjoy tonight though, and the rest of the playoffs

I see my observation is being misinterpreted or perhaps misrepresented. Noticeably, most of the Wolves were pressing in the second half of Game 2. Taking bad shots. Turning the ball over. Taking on the entire defense by themselves. Visibly frustrated and panicky as the lead grew larger. You get the picture. I thought it was interesting that D'Angelo Russell continued to remain calm and rally the troops. His efforts clearly failed, but even with a significant deficit he didn't appear frazzled. Obviously, they need his play to be better, but the post-season doesn't appear to rattle him mentally. Never too high, never too low regardless of his play.

You can make your jokes or snide comments about that if you'd like. It was merely an observation in one game thread of many. I'd like to see Karl-Anthony Towns show some of that once in a while. Oh, well.
