Exactly... I just wrote something similar before seeing this.

I think it's a 4-way tie among the top four on your list. But as the head of the basketball department, Rosas has to be the first to go. But we both know that won't happen. And I don't see Rosas firing Ryan Saunders or trading DLO. And there's no team that would trade for Juancho.

I promise I didn't copy your list on what I just posted, cool :)

But Ryan does nothing to play to this teams strengths

Well, you'll get no argument from me on that point.

Ryan is not an nba head coach, but he's definitely not our biggest problem. He's being forced to play a ridiculous system if he wants a job... most of us would probably do the same. It also wasn't his decision to trade for dlo. Our biggest problems in order are Taylor, rosas, dlo (for what he's making) and then Ryan. Does anyone disagree that this system is 100% rosas? I don't think Ryan was doing anything like this as interim coach before Rosas got here, but correct me if I'm wrong. Hopefully we can all agree now that dlo is not a max player or a star in any way shape or form...

I agree with your ranking of the Wolves' problems. However, I think Ryan and Rosas are simpatico on the system thing. It was that "alignment" of thinking that ultimately made him Gersson's pick. But at the end of the day, Rosas has established the "system" and provided the roster. I put quotes around "system" because think Gersson's vaunted system is just a general concept formed around one of his favorite platitudes: "space and pace."

1. JMac

5. Beasley
6. Vanderbilt
7. Naz Reid
8. Culver - although I'm losing patience with him

Those are the guys with talent who are also athletic and play hard. I have no interest in seeing DLO on the court anymore. And while I love Ricky, I'd prefer to move on from him.

Good list, I would just add mcdaniels also for as many minutes as he can handle without being overwhelmed.

The thing with DLO is that we absolutely need his shooting and scoring. But he has to do it within the flow of the offense and start making better decisions with his shots and passing. He's just playing lazy, sloppy basketball right now and it's terrible. I think he's something like a cumulative -90 (!!) over the past three games. That could be some kind of record.

You're right about what DLO needs to do to have some chance of providing positive value for the Wolves. But I just don't see that happening and I continue to see him as a net negative, which is what he's been throughout almost his entire 5-year career to date. Just to be clear, I'm not basing my issue with DLO on the last 5 games. I'm basing it on his last 5 years. I didn't like the deal that brought him here and I'm looking forward to the day when he's gone. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a team out there that will give us much for him - certainly nothing close to what we gave up to get him.

I think our only real shot would be if the knicks would give us a few smaller, shorter contracts in return for dlo. If we could do this without giving up any 2nd round picks, I would be ecstatic. Is there another team dumb enough who could use a starting PG? Maybe Orlando.

I actually think that Thibodeau would get the most out of DLO. His offensive system would emphasize DLO's strengths as a pick-and-roll PG and jump shooter. And they definitely need a PG. But I don't see Rosas trading DLO, so it's just a discussion point for us on this message board.

Obviously there is roster construction issues no doubt. Not denying that at all. We are 5 games into the season and have lost 3 by 20+ all in a row. Also don't tell me we are missing Towns. Lakers were missing Davis, Clippers were missing Leonard and tonight the winless wizards without Westbrook on a back to back beat our ass.

Wolves still have a guy who was a former all star who another team paid the max for, a guy who a good organization in the nuggets wanted back in Beasley for 10+ million, Rubio got paid 17 million by another team and has started for a decade. Wolves also have 2 top 10 picks from the last 2 years including the #1 overall pick. Don't tell me this team doesn't have talent.

Right or wrong this team doesn't play hard for Ryan. Why is Dlo having his worst start of his career since his rookie year. Why is Ricky having his worst start to his career.

Firing Ryan doesn't save the Wolves and all of a sudden they win games but his lack of creativity and stubbornness to not play another way is so stupid. Don't tell me it's rosas not letting him play a certain way. Ryan is killing his NBA HC career and he is stupid to not try playing any bigs together
